Transit

When the man starts driving off the main road as a hitchhiker I would assume things are going south pretty quickly. I didn't get that feeling from the passenger, I think he was too calm.

At first he's just happy to finally get a lift. Sure, being next to a person that seems really sick would probably turn you off. It depends on how desperately you need that lift ;) Once the driver leaves the main road though, the hitcher's voice starts to sound like he's getting nervous, but then again it probably gets lost in the translation.

Thanks for the feedback!

THank you. A film that lives up to the fest.

This was solid all the way around. I just wish I didn't know anything about it going in. I read somewhere in a thread where a jackass mentioned the cough*spoiler*cough and I had a hunch what the film was going to be about.

Regardless, this was a solid execution all the way around. music/sound design, look/feel. All damn good.

I would assume the acting was pretty good too. Unfortunately I could only read the subtitles and my swedish is a little rusty. It *Looked* like a believable performance I suppose.

Definitely watching you career with interest. :)

He is actually very eager. He's somewhere outside Katrineholm when he gets picked up and it's some 25 km:s only going to Flen. Then even if getting there, there's another 5 to Hälleforsnäs. We'd never have imagined this isn't common knowledge all over the world!

I can very easily identify myself with the hitcher - watching the film it's almost as if it was myself standing by the roadside...

We actually did consider using the Pippi theme. It would have added to the feeling but it would perhaps have been confusing, whether it was movie music or something playing from the car radio. Why would the demon play that Georg Riedel song...?
If that song was on the radio and the struggle caused the volume to go up at the end.... I would have wet myself. :)

Good job, guys. Going to watch this again later.

Cool! Yah I would assumeMost is lost in subtitles but hey it happens. You can still tell he's nervous but to me just not nervous enough.....it's all opinion though

I figured that the hitchhiker just thought the driver was pulling off the road because he was going to be sick or something. I bought it. The guy was hacking up a lung! :)

"Time for a new body" Oh-oh - doesn't he know it's Halloween - run! Guess they don't have that in Sweden? When I lived in Germany they didn't do Halloween, butt, the entire population of a million swarmed the American housing for free candy - loads of fun. Love the feet kicking viewpoint. Hmmm ... repeat. Needed more story I think. Like two clips and the rest weren't added. Lots of time available. Good color, sound, acting, & cine.

Why the 1080x536 format? Is that a standard there? Curious.

SPOILER REVIEW:

The good: I really liked the lighting in the car. It was just enough without going overboard. The shots were solid as well. I liked how the passenger carried the story, almost as if talking to himself. The coloring on this was good as well. It gave it a very gloomy feel throughout. The audio seemed to work for me, but it was subtitled, so that might play a part in it.

The not as good: As soon as the guy started coughing, I knew what was going to happen, but that's probably just me. I would like to have known what this "thing" was that just goes around picking people up to transition to ... oh ... I get it ... "transit" ... clever clever! Anyway, I'd like to know more about this monster / thing / virus.

Favorite part: The lighting on the passenger when they're driving in the woods.

Well shot & edited film, but like others I knew what was going to happen 1:00 into it. "It's time...for a new body"... it's a giveaway. End of story for me.
No scare-factor.

Moral of the story: Don't hitchhike!

Ahh, this is one of my top 3 for sure. Very nice. I do think that guy wasn't very concerned about that guys death cough though, he just kept talking. I can't say I was scared, but I did really like. Great job!

We trimmed out quite a bit. The hitcher looking in the backseat, finding a huge pile of clothes and wondering if it was washing day. A longer intro with the hitcher walking by the road. POV with the driver looking around for a victim. Sure we could have gone with the full 6 minutes, but that would have been milking the idea. Quick'n'dirty, that's the policy.

1800x536 is 2.39:1 anamorphic aspect ratio in 720p.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! Yeah, it's not the most surprising twist, I know. The audio went AWOL on us, before this take, Svento ripped out his Lavalier from the Zoom during the struggle, so I only had the cam sound with rattling and lots of ambience from the car, tinny as hell with mostly mids and highs. The zoom still recorded from within Svento's sleeve (lol) and was muffled, but I managed to combine the two sources and this was the result. I personally would have preferred a cleaner take, though. Lighting was available light plus a Z96 on the floor in front of us. Minimal!

A sequel is on the way...

Total giveaway, agreed :)

Hey guys, this one was pretty cool. Had a Fallen meets The Hidden vibe to it. I dug it. Everything worked well but it was almost too short, I just got introduced to this awesome character(s) and it ends. Now the acting, for the most part us Americans can't tell if the acting is stellar or not in a foreign language film. I have my thoughts but what is your opinion on the acting here?

Thanks! Well, most of our Swedish audience felt it was solid and convincing. :)
