Waefre--this isn't a lynching. Its a matter of individuals stepping forward to protect the community here. The guy hasn't exactly been convicted of anything yet. So while the investigation begins, lets not make any reckless comments.

Well when someone takes a picture with your email and his email in front of the DVX on a piece of paper I was less hesitant because I could see the camera. Also, I've never had to go through this before but I've always been very cautious about my money so I saved everything. I hope everyone else does the same for every transaction they do. No matter how trustworthy the person seems.
 
To everyone who has contacted me thus far... Please send me a separate email containing your real contact information. Full name, telephone number, email, and snail mail (mailing address). Please include your dvxuser name somewhere in the subject or easily found within the body of the email, as well as any aliases you have used during contact with the individual in question.

And, let's please try to keep this particular thread on the task at hand and not get to carried away.

And to TQ... you have less than 48 hours to get this situation/resolved fixed to everyone's satisfaction that was/is involved in this situation before I fix it. It ain't looking pretty at the moment (for you).

Good afternoon everyone, I will be talking on TQ's behalf. I got a phone call early this morning from "TQ's" girlfriend and she stated to me that she had 4 claims against her on her "paypal" account. I went on my PC which I rarely get on and I got an instant message from a "SnowCase" and he directed me to this thread. TQ is my younger brother. I am beyond furious right now but that is besides the point. I read this whole thread and Im truly sick. 1st of all I am sincerely sorry for whatever has happened. I never knew that my brother was performing such acts online. I don't even know where to start but I do know he was using my PC and judging from what Jason Ramsey said I do not want any authorities knocking on my door so I will try my best to resolve this myself. His girlfriend told me the outstanding balance is somewhere over $4000.00. She has given me access to her account and told me there's $1200.00 available. Im going to refund someones money right now. Whoever does not get refunded PLEASE email me at xxx (email address temporarily removed by moderator) so we can figure out a payment solution. And Jason please email me before you take any legal action

Nobody email anything to this person yet. I will act as the intermediary. I have all paypal receipts. I will advise of further action. Contact me directly at the address I have already provided to you if you have contacted me already.

I am looking into this. There are other matters to discuss beyond just those mentioned in this thread.

Yes RCbrown23, your point is well taken, the post from Jason makes that clear and right above your quote I took a moment to acknowledge this is not the standard here hence the many thanks from myself and the rest of us who frequent here.

But your point is, again, well taken and your reiteration should serve to reinforce the actions of the mods.
 
UPDATE:

Unless there becomes a pressing need to do otherwise, this will be the final public update concerning this situation.

I have been in contact with one individual directly, and another indirectly for the last couple of days. I now have verifiable proof that all necessary steps are being taken (as of right now) to ensure that each of the three members of this forum who are owed money will receive their money back in full. I have seen this with my own eyes. We could start to see money flowing back into the hands of its owners as early as the beginning of next week.

If things continue to move forward as they have over the last 24 hours, all members of this forum who are owed money will be fully reimbursed for the money that they sent to "TQ248". This is good news.

However, the situtation is far from resolved, and there is much more to this situation than what appears within this thread. There were other victims, and they were not just victims of an internet scam. In fact the individuals I am dealing with now have also been victims of this persons wrong doing. Privately, this situation is far from resolved. Publicly, there is nothing more to say on the matter, for the time being. If things change, then I will reopen the public discussion of this (if it is necessary to do so) and will go forward with my other plan.

That all said:
The members of this forum who were wronged, are very lucky. Normally, you could kiss your money goodbye. This is a unique situation that you will be reimbursed (provided things continue as they have, and I am reasonbly confident that they will continue to do so). There was an element of persistence, but also a level of luck that has allowed things to come to this point.

I should also state that DVXuser did not step in in any 'official' capacity as a site to help resolve this matter. Nor, will DVXuser do that in the future. This remains a buyer beware... and a seller beware marketplace. DVXUser accepts ZERO responsibility for what takes place here. It is up to YOU to protect yourselves and to look after each other. This case was the case of an individual member of this forum stepping forward to do what he could to help out fellow members. This was not DVXuser stepping forward. This was not a moderator, or a representative of DVXuser. Just a fellow member. Understand that. You have to protect yourselves.

I encourage you all to look after each other. There is a reason why DVXuser has such a strong sense of community. Protect each other. When one is wronged, you should all stand up and 'do the right thing' to help that person. It's like an alarm system. Perps will look for another house most of the time, if they see you have one. You give to this site, and this site gives to you. It is a mutual exchange. We should ALL be hear for the benefit (not only of ourselves, but) of each other. There is nothing that was done here that could not be done by anyone else (that includes robbing, being robbed, and being able to track down who robbed you down to a satellite image of their dwelling place).

ONLY BUY FROM ESTABLISHED MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM. PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD OTHER SUCCESSFUL TRANSACTIONS IN THIS MARKETPLACE, OR PEOPLE THAT AN ESTABLISHED MEMBER OF THIS FORUM CAN VOUCH FOR. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. RESEARCH THE INDIVIDUAL. GOOGLE HIS/HER USERNAME. MAKE SURE THAT THE PRICE IS REASONABLE. DO NOT ACCEPT LONG SHIPPING TIMES. In fact Paypal has rules on just how long they allow shipments to take to arrive to the buyer.

And, even if you do all of these things, there is still a chance that you can and will be scammed. Period. you have to protect yourselves and each other. I encourage you to do that. It would be a shame if this type of occurence were to become common enough to force the marketplace on this site to be closed.

To summarize, take care of each other.

The situation discussed in this thread is being handled privately, and will continue to be handled privately from this point out, and is closed to public discussion provided things continue to move in the direction they have over the last 24 hours. In the event things cease to move in a manner that I find satisfactory, they will be handled via other methods, and all parties involved are well aware of what those methods entail and the consequences they carry with them.
