Check out a 30second Sk8 clip i made..

its hard to say anything about it... its encoded at a real low quality... the colors look muddy but i cant tell if its your fault or the encoding

It's short and lame...

KIdding of course. I would add a few slo-motion shots, and pick up the pace of the edits. Skateboarding is a dynamic sport so I like to see it presented that way. You could shoot some close-ups as well, faces, boards, misc things, and add them between the skating. I don't skate, but I've always loved watching skate videos because of their creative presentation. I could watch CKY vids all day. It's a great subject that allows you to get a little crazy with your editing. Different angles, different shots, mix it up a bit.

Class dismissed, homework is due on Monday.

It looks more like a home movie than a skate movie. Spice it up with some music, moving shots, new angles, ect. I have only seen a few skate videos but they almost always have quick close up of the skater they are filming. That is a good time to put their name up on the screen.

And every skate vide needs somebody beefing it. =)

I used to make those kinds of videos with all my little skate-punk friends.

Here's something that I made waaaay back in the day (probably 3 years ago at this point): http://www.ftdfilms.com/video/trailers/ary_ttt.mov

Don't judge me too harshly, that was made long before I knew what I was doing (I couldn't even compress it very well!)

Some music and snappier cuts (on the beat of the music would be good) will definitely spice up your footage.
