I drool over those Xenars.......mmmmm

That's one way to blur the image...

[Erik Olson]

I'm drooling over the Scout.

[TimurCivan]

whats a scout?

This?

[Erik Olson]

Oh, pointed to Mikko. The new SteadiCam Scout. Gotta love something that shares a name with Atticus' kid!

[mikkowilson]

I haven't flown the Steadicam Scout myself yet. I assume I'll get the chance at NAB.

How'd you get to be so smart?

"poor" is a better adjective.

He's watched all of us dither endlessly about this or that camera!

See above.

- Mikko

[TimurCivan]

Subtle update.... But something surprising happened.... re writing my next update to reflect.....

[kylekmd]

Well, what is it? We're dying over here.

[TimurCivan]

Lets just say.... im getting AMAZING low light, by doing something simple.

[mikkowilson]

Turning the ND filter knob to clear?

- Mikko

[Stephen Mick]

Turned on a light?

[TimurCivan]

Well lets just say i am wowed. After using a 5dmkII for a year and a half, it takes alot to wow me. with an F2.0 lens too.....

[Everts]

Wow !

[Steve Kahn]

MORE sensitive???

[Marc Villafan]

MORE sensitive???

That was it! In the scene file instead of the out of the box setting "sensitivity: great," he changed it to "sensitivity: amazing"

Looking forward to your blog update Timur.

[Steve Kahn]

This sensitivity goes to 11.

It's one louder, isn't it?

[Thomas Church]

Timur, color me excited.

After the "noise" tension over the other thread I'm dying to see some real extensive low light tests with the AF100.

Hopefully the same shot at ISO 800, 1600, etc.

A friend of mine got a notice from B and H saying his camera is expected to ship on January 7th. I don't know when he ordered it or what not, but it's encouraging that they are being so specific. Cheers all and I look forward to seeing the footage. Thanks so much for taking the time to shoot this for our eager little eyeballs.

[TimurCivan]

I will say this. I cant post footage right now. But iwill do this for you guys. i'll shoot something that i can post at absurd ISO's.

@ 800 ISO its about as clean as i could ever hope for. 1600... is highly acceptable to me.

i'll shoot something on 50mm F1.4 canon EF lens, on my 5DmkII, and then on the AF100.

When i can post footage i'll put it up.

[Everts]

Hmmm I wanna see but I gotta sleep its 3am here so goodnight !

[danielc]

this is very reassuring Timur. Thanks for providing us with some of your tests. the shots from today had me scared about my order, but your experience and excitement have my spirits up again. look forward to everything.
