"the box"

i hope yours isn't like mine...cuz mine centers around a box...ugh oh...lol Love the grabs man!

No worries Dustin... it'd definitely not the same. :) that's the thing with being a composer for so many films is that I hope to 'not' be influenced by seeing these films. I think the tagline, "its not what it seems" fits inanimate objects perfectly.. Such as boxes. :)

So, are we gonna see some fun CG at all in this piece? Hope so. I enjoy it when you use it. And use it well you do.

Good luck. Congrats on posting. Now the wait begins.

P.S. What kind of adaptor did you use? I've been meaning to shoot with an HV20. I guess I'm gonna watch yours for test footage. Hope it works out. Let me know about the adaptor, huh? THanks. Good luck.

Danielleus.. Well, I hope you'll like what i've done with the HV20 and adapter. Mine's a vibrating so definitely keep that in mind before purchasing one. It's great because it eliminates the hairs and dust that get trapped inside. But, it's tricky because it causes the whole camera to vibrate because the HV20 was so small. Not to mention it wasn't locked down as good as it could have been. There's a few other things, but they are minor. I've got a whole list of the adapter 'ticks' on my vimeo page with my twoneil footage..
But yes! there will be a few VFX in here. Many of them you wont' even notice. :) (hopefully)

Grabs look great... and I always love low-key productions. Color me intrigued. Best of luck!!!

Looking forward to you guys seeing the film!

Mike, ha!! Nonsense... Just ask "Dale" (deedive) about last minute projects. i scored his film, "Dissonance" (dramafest) the night before the deadline. If anything, there's always tracks I could have referred you to if you were in a pinch.

Lookin' forward to seeing you film!

Dude, really? 5 films??? You are the man! I can't wait to see this one. I wish I could have used your scores. As it turned out, an 11th hour fix called for some music but at 3:20AM Sunday morning I figured it would be inappropriate to try and fish for something from you.

Yo J-dawg... you were kind of quiet on this one, eh? Just started the thread today... cool man!

Can't wait to watch it.

Holy moley, I don't know how you shot this, scored another bunch of films and took care of your baby. Talk about multitasking!

cheers,

Justin,

Congrats on making it just... under... the... wire! I wish we could have worked on this one with you, and from the BTS, you could have used some extra help (even baby sitting!).

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

Thanks jonathan.. it was a multi-task for sure. Guess that's what happens when you don't watch much TV and never leave the house.

Thanks robert, I hope you dig the film. Too bad you couldn't make it up this round. Definitely next time!

I wonder if there are other entries with children besides ours?
/j

I think there are a few, at least a few threads had kids in the cast. I haven't gone through to see how many made it in. Working with kids is fun, as long as you know what to expect from them and are ready to be extremely flexible.

Justin,
Awesome man I learned the same thing as you well know trying to fix it in post is a bunch of BS unless you have a lot of time and better equipment then I have. Hey next time let me know we can help out with filming and the like. I am sorry I didn't have time for you to score my flick but I will definitely get the directors cut to you for the festival circuit. Congrats on getting it done my kids are each in at least a couple of our entries but they are 8 and 11 and have been around it for years now so they are really good on set. I can't wait to see this.

I don't have a TV. I never leave the house (it's more like a big box of a basement apartment). But I don't have kids! I think those with responsibilities (kids, wife) should get a prize just for submitting something.

I think the S.O. and kids of those who submitted something should get a prize. :) I took over the house for three days (one weekend and the following Sunday), spent countless late nights in my office editing, and my partner cleaned the house before filming and bought the food for the cast and crew (even though I specifically said I would do all that so she didn't have to take on extra work).

A few extra stuff...

I like that the barcode label is still on the ball.

instead or craning your neck around, you could put a mirror on the floor in front of your TV and see it right-side-up.
