Funny Ass Jib Commercial

Thanks Alan, another commercial is in pre-production. When I say pre-production I mean I've got a few ideas jotted down on a napkin somewhere.

I think the budget on the last one was around $20 (for pizza, milk and cookies).

I may bump it up to $30 for the next one so prepare to have your mind blown :)

Napkins? $20 for pizza, milk, cookies?
$30 for next shoot?

Must be one of the lowest budget projects I know of.

I think you can ask local restaurants to support the videos and help them do some advertisements. They will mostlikely provide you with food. So your budget will probably go down to about $10 or so. I'm just being cheap, don't mind me.

I can't wait to see a project that has a budget of $100. It must rock this world then!

thanks for the tips, anything to keep from breaking the budget helps.
I don't know about the free restaurant food though, I don't want my crew to become prima donas, before you know it they'll be asking to get paid :)

$100 ?! now that's just crazy talk

Hi John,

I can't wait to order one of your jibs. I spoke with you a few weeks ago about it and hopefully should be placing my order for the full package within the next week or two. One quick question: Which tripod did you recommend for this setup?

hey slab,
any tripod capable of handling around 150lbs max will work with the jib if it has a 3/8" threaded stud on top (typical mount for fluid heads especially Manfrotto)
If you're not planning on using the heaviest camera at 10ft extension without a tail extension, some lighter tripods may work.

the one I recommend is the Manfrotto 528xb, the cheapest I've found it is at B&H

It's only rated for 66lbs but it can handle 5 times that (tried it).

look forward to hearing back from ya

yeah, I realized after... most Americans have never seen a milk pitcher before so it's probably one of those exotic hot ticket items you just gotta have.
just like the vintage 80's Miami Vice cream suit
