GH2 Thankyou Panasonic for the GH2 firmware 1.1, yes it does do 25p and 30p

My Sony CX700V 1080p 50fps 28Mbps plays on my PS3 so 25p 24Mbps should not be a problem.

well i am not sure where 25P is on the gh2 update or if there is any difference in high bit rate and 24P i am currently doing a test to see if there is any difference in traffic movement as 24P is no go on my set up,the frame rate shows 23.98 for 24P AND 25p for HBR as does 50i ,incidently i have a FZ150 as well and 50P and mpeg4 25P will not play on my PS3 only 50i.thanks for th input

The test disc shows that HFR does not have the jerky motion my software gives 24P footage,moving traffic is slightly more blurred than 50i but ordinary footage looks great.The instant turn on is good as well,i cant see much better focus using the 14-42mm and as for other benefits i have not looked for yet.
 
The "instant on" for me is no different than version 1.0. Though, to be fair, 1.0 seemed pretty instant to me. Click (power button),display info, image, boom. I'm using the 14-140 lens if that makes any difference.

The bitrate you are looking at there is not the bitrate of the camera's AVCHD files but the bitrate of FCP's transcoded ProRes files with intra-frames. And as 23.98 is 80% less frames than 29.97 the bitrate difference between them fully as expected. You have to check the original files in something else than FCP.
 
Can some,one clarify whether the 25P on the GH2s update is still different from the hacked GH1s proper 25P which i presume is not in a wrapper.Some are saying the update 25P is a waste of time as there is so much extra work involved.

I upgraded into new firmware in GH2, because i didn't had 25p.
Now i have it, wrapped in 50i , and with clip wrap (rewrap - not re encoding) is very fast and easy.
Its like copying from sd card to computer via third program .

Fine it suites me but not all it seems.
 
So how do we get 25p on Pal cameras... do we set the camera to shot 50i or is it the High Bit Rate mode...

We juxt set to HBR and then choose the recording frame size..

just when it was all clear,for me there is no way to go into 720P or 50i when set on HBR so how can the GH2 have 25P in 720p .
 
Would anybody please check-out if remote (wire or wireless) after fw update now wakes up GH2 from econo mode? Maybe Pana has fixed it without a word, just like a mic input...
