Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knew when the Rebel T2i is going to be back in stock at B&H? I think this is week 2 that they have been out of stock? I went to Best Buy and they didn't have them so I went to a local Fry's Electronics and they were also out. I checked Amazon, and I believe that they are out of stock as well. Does anyone know who DOES have a Rebel T2i currently in stock or when one might be back in stock at B&H?

Well it looks like people should have pre-ordered it. Now you can find one but you are going to be paying a $200+ price increase

Haha thanks to this post, I just bought a T2i instead of waiting!!
Oh god, it was such a impulse buy! Literally 2 hours ago, I hardly know what the T2i was!
I'm so excited for it to come!!! I hope I won't regret it!!

.... time to put my GH1 on ebay... haha

Welcome to the club! I've had mine since 3/1 and I'm getting better results with it every day. For videographers and photographers who want the 7D's video capabilities in a smaller, lower cost package, it's a godsend.

100% agree. Also I must note that I also owned the Gh1 and comparing the photo side ( not video) the T2i completely destroys it when comparing photos, it's not even close.

Adorama has the body only in stock

Got a message today from Precision Camera that they actually don't have any in stock. I'm sick of all these web sites pulling this kind of stuff. If you don't have them in stock then list it as so.

Sweet!! Precision camera sent me the out of stock e-mail today too... so I canceled and ordered one from Adorama. Jeez, I'm so stupid, I picked 7-10 days for free shipping... I should have done next day air....

Did the same thing... but in my experience, you normally get free shipping a little sooner then they say.

Of course, this is the first thing I've bought from Adorama, so who knows?

At Adorama we often get pulled up on the boards for this, so maybe it's worth me sharing some info about how and why this happens:

When a delivery arrives the units are booked in via a computerized bar coding system, so the website will show the units as being in stock. Anyone who places an order during this time will receive an automated confirmation that the order has been received.

However, when an item is heavily back-ordered (because we don't charge until an order actually ships), all the back-orders have to be filled first, and the
units are removed from stock by our warehouse team, and packaged for shipping.

At the exact moment that the final back-ordered unit is removed from stock, any customers with unfulfilled orders will receive an automated email indicating that the unit is on back order.

Our website does not update in real time, to allow for order cancellations - the bulk of which typically occur within the first 30 - 45 minutes of placing an order eg because a customer has had a change of heart, or because his wife walks into the room at the exact moment that he places his order......... :embarasse

This explains why, when you place an order, it could appear from the site that there are still units in stock - when in fact they have already been allocated to customers who placed their orders during the previous week or so.

We operate a very strict procedure which ensures that orders are fulfilled in the order in which they are received.

Knowing how heavily back-ordered new releases can be, (and that I don't think any manufacturer ever sends sufficient units to fulfil all of a retailer's back orders immediately, pre-ordering is the most reliable way to ensure that you are in line for early allocation.

Remember, Adorama does NOT charge your cc until we actually ship your order. So you can order with confidence - and if you find the item somewhere else sooner, a quick call to our friendly CS team, or an email to me: helen.oster@adoramacamera.com, and your order can be cancelled immediately!

Just got an email from Adorama - they're back ordered already (meaning I'll have to wait for the next shipment).

Sucks, but the personal service on the phone was very nice and they gave me faster shipping for free... when it comes in.
