C200: SSD adapter for the C200

The Egodisk, after 7 or 8 minutes....works well on my partner's c300ii, but not so well at 50fps on my C200. Sandisk Pros - no problem, but they're expensive as hell.

Have you tested it? That's not been my experience at all.

Me either. I shoot 4K 60p all of the time, have not had one issue with dropped frames with the EgoDisk cards. First report of dropped frames I have heard about them. They are VPG-130 rated, shouldn't be an issue, unless there is a defective card perhaps?

So happy to read a SSD could be used with the C200 !!
I’m interested to see photos and read more about it.

What could be the costs and when do you plan to sell it ? No physical changes needed (warranty) ?

If it works it’s a great news. If Canon know that, I’m sure the future C300 m3 (or C400) will have more protections, making the C200 a real unique camera.

So, just to be clear: with the EgoDisk and recording 50fps raw, your C200 buffers out and auto stops recording?

We're not talking jerky playback once imported to the computer right?

Photos coming soon.
The cost about 100-120eur, to be defined. And no, no changes, you maintain the warranty!

I've only ever tried one, to be fair.

If you guys are constantly shooting at 60p, then I guess it's down to the card itself.

This is certainly good news. Maybe I'll grab a 256Gb one.

Thanks.

I'm still interested in an SSD solution though, as a 2TB solution - all in - is still much cheaper than 512Gb worth.

On URSA, Tom Antos Velcro'd the SSD to the back of the battery. It seemed fairly compact.

BTW, the parts for the CFast 2.0-to-SSD contraption are like $80 retail, so a $600 price tag seems a bit excessive.

Yes, but URSA weights two tons so you can attach RAID enclosure and it would seem compact :) I've stripped my C200 down as much as I can, and still it is fairly heavy for all day handheld.

Any way to get CFAST to SDI or HDMI? That would be a killer. This way we can record in Prores.

It's all possible. With a high request this devices would cost around 500-1000eur... Take an Atomos Shogun Inferno...

When you import RAW in FCPX, it behaves like prores 4444 and takes less space, so we already have better than that :)

So here's the product we've been talking about here on eBay. That's a CCTECH Cfast to mSata. It says it's compatible with the Canon c200 but we know there's a problem with the Cfast card slot door and there's no explanation on how to deal with this aspect. I sent a message to the seller a few days ago but I got no response, so I'm questioning the validity of the claim of compatibility.

Here's the link :

I'm sure it's compatible, just like mine solution. But, he doesn't say that you need to power someway the msata ssd. Mine solution takes power from camera so no additional cables/converter/support!
And, like in my case, he does not provide a solution for the door. I'm trying to make some 3d scans for c200/c300mk2/xc10/1dx mk2 with some guys from US, really busy guys...

Hi all!
Just wanted to share that I have successfully made a recording to a SSD. I took a chance and bought this device:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Videotech-...m=112628203274&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

I powered it off my V-mount battery and everything works perfectly. This morning I used a 1TB 860EVO SSD which gave me 133 min and only cost me $300!!! I made a 5min recording at 24P. I'll make more tests later.

Of course there is still the door sensor problem, but I think that I can come up with something. Also, I was able to shut the door enough to trigger the door sensor and hit record. Then, I let the door go and the camera kept recording. So, there is that.
