Sony XDCAM EX

One thing I learnt from that review is that the EX has dual zebra stripes, I didn't think I'd see that on a camera at this price point. (And having got used to the feature on much more expensive cameras, I don't want to give it up.)

Has anyone tried getting the free 8GB SxS card?
I registered my membership, but when I go to the 8GB card link it errors?

That's some pretty good stuff if you need it. Most users should never need to adjust flare, etc., but it's cool that you've found a way to get at it. But, as Mikko is alluding to, DO NOT FIDDLE WITH THAT STUFF if you don't know exactly what you're doing!

Had the same problem Stevet... I can't tell if Sony actually runs this site or another company. Take a look at the FAQs where they allude to that. Also, if you have more than one offer asking for your original UPC code, Sony says you'll have to send it to them if you want their stuff (like the SxS card) and forget the other guys.:embarasse

UV filter

UV filter

Has anyone put on a UV filter yet? I recently purchased the Tiffen 77UVP, but I am upset that you can't put back on the lens hood. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just the model of the UV filter?
Thanks!

Hoya 77mm Ultraviolet (UV) Pro 1 Digital Multi-Coated Glass Filter

Several of us own this filter. It has an ultra low profile. The hood fits fine with it.

Thanks Steve...That's good to know about the Hoya filters. I have a Tiffen Haze-1 and had the same problem with the hood not fitting back on. I wasn't too disappointed since I plan to add mattebox and rails. I knew there were some slim profile filters out there but didn't guess they were Hoya's.
Once again, you've provided a great bit of info to this line... Thanks!

Yes... It seems filters come in at least two thicknesses: 5mm and 3mm... So best to get the 3mm thickness if you plan to keep the Sony lens box on... The 3mm would also be called a "wide angle" use filter since the thinner cylinder would not cause vignetting (sp) that a 5mm would.
