Finally a dream camera. Will it make my dreams happier?
I've seen so much of the most interesting math on this forum. Used vs new prices. So lets see. The price of the Inferno was left out...That's about $1000. For $200 more you could have bought an hour of CFast. And the price for CFast can be had for about half what you list. egodisks are basically $600 per hour. The price of CFast is high. But lets get real here. 2 hours is $1200 4 hours is $2400 2400/7400=32%. 32% isn't insignificant. But it's not beginning to approach 50%.Read My Lips Guys; The Cfast cost is $1000-1200 per hour for storage, the last thing I want to do on a job is cut my shots down because I can't afford to waste data. Considering there is always the possibility of even a card going south - I would not go to a job without 2-4 hours of cards, this is approaching half the price of the camera - Lets get out feet back on the ground here.
I just paid only $99 for a TB drive at B&H for my Atomos Inferno twice that storage of the big CFast - The C100 format is broke . . . . .
Regards Mike
Yeah I heard so. The C400 will pull every other cameras pants down and wop their ass and they'll never be seen again. So I heard.

But doesn’t the C200 render this entire conversation moot because it doesn’t output Raw or high quality 4K via HDMI or SDI?
Loved this.
Having worked with the camera now for a while I have some things on my list I don't like.
Compression/noise artefacts with H264 files.
Auto focus is unreliable. Face detection gets lost if the person blinks and it's erratic.
100fps slow motion soft and borderline to useless. And just one slow motion speed.
No conform of slow motion clips to normal speed in order to view slow motion footage in camera.
LCD quickly becomes difficult to see in daylight.
Touch screen not responding directly sometimes.
LCD mount not that great and often it doesn't feel level.
EVF also difficult to see in certain situations with bright sunlight.
Useless internal microphone.
Slow booting.
Need to reboot camera to go to playback.
It's heavier and bulkier than the C100.
Then it does have some very nice touches as well.
I bought a C200, I get to ***** about it's shortcomings. It has faults but not so many that I couldn't overlook them and still buy one, use it and like it overall ;-) It's a good camera, but Canon released it too soon with too many operational issues that could easily be fixed via firmware. Waiting on you Canon.
Great, but i wasn't responding to you. When someone is responding to you, you can ***** all you want.
Why don't you buy a CFast card or two to own and rent more when there is a job or bigger project?
Quick answer is; Forget about renting any cards - I would never trust nor recommend anyone using a rental card for any serious work unless you're shooting your cat at home. You don't know the history on those cards and most likely handled by idiots who climb out of plastic chairs fully charged and zap the cards.
Regards!
