C100: Show us your rig...

Here's mine.

Basic set up for run and gun.

DP4, I have the evf attachement but it's a bit bulky for my liking but I am still playing around with positioning to see if I can sort it out.

Eye Cushion works a treat, going to modify my DP4 eyecup as it is even better.

Lens is Tokina 28-70 ATX Pro 2.8 (Nikon Mount for the apature ring) with Redrock micro adapter (I praise this adapter heavily in another thread).

Still tinkering, as you do.

How do you find the DP4 compared to the camera's own monitor? I'm thinking of getting one for added versatility and to use the EVF on a rig.

The DP4 is awesome (heaps easier to use than the inbuilt LCD), though I do prefer the peaking on the C100 over Smallhd's peaking, saying that, I have found I don't really need peaking at all the image is so clear, so I spose it's kinda moot. False colour is also a great tool on the DP4.

Scott, Thanks and the eye cushion is good but what is even better, is taking the DP4 evfs rubber eyepiece and cutting two rubber rings off it to shorten it, then using that.

I also added a larger eyecushion to it and secured it to the C100's evf with double sided tape glasiers use for windows, it's sticky as and works a treat.

Will post some pics when I get back from shooting on Thursday..

As a side note....I am loving using the inbuilt evf in black and white with red peaking.

Thanks,

Phil

Had to share tonight's setup for the C100 recording to Hyperdeck Shuttle 2. Worked a treat for handheld out in the sun.

Nice. Are you focusing using the ninja? I've found the screen too soft for accuracy. Borrowed a Zacuto Zfnder Pro EVF this week and its incredible - even compared to the c100 LCD. *want*

What cable is that? *also want*

Goes from tripod to shoulder in a second. Tilta plate, custom made Anton Bauer rig on back to power everything: Zacuto EVF, offset boom mic, offset on/off handle, BEC Box to hold Lectro receiver for 2 wireless mics to go into the XLRs. Sometimes I have a dimmable Flo Light on top to add some daylight fill to faces. 80% of the time my type of shooting does not lend itself to spend time on matte box swing out or follow focus wheels. Mainly documentary filming and switching lenses often.

Not happy with the arm, looking for something better. I have a DP6 but it's useless in bright daylight or hand held shooting. The base of the Tilta is perfect for using heavy duty tripods. I always use a heavier than needed tripod so it's there for prompter work, etc. Also, it is my last hope if the camera rig is about to fall, a client trips over a cable, etc. so I've learned the hard way to use heavier tripods even if it means making my day more physical. This is a Sachtler 20.

Trying to figure out a rain cover that looks more professional than a heavy duty trash can liner with a hole cut in it, but each gig is customized so the shape of the rig changes constantly!

Had a shoot recently with my c100. Rigged it up for a steadicam shot. Using blackmagic converter with focusview wireless follow focus. Recorded externally using an Atomos Ninja 2.

eggoyuken:

There is a little bracket Zacuto sells for $140 that attaches the handle to the rod. This way I can have my elbows tucked into my ribs for steady, fatigue free hand holding yet easily start and stop rolling plus have the toggle switch there.
