Thanks, Scott! I'm pretty happy with it. Here are a few comments:
I wanted a low baseplate to keep the center of gravity low, as I'm approaching the max load for the 504HD head from Manfrotto. A low profile plate/rod setup also helps with packing, as I don't want to take everything apart all the time. The drawback is that the rods come out at the front of the base plate and that means that weight will build up in front of the camera. I use a long plate for the 504HD in order to slide the camera towards the back of the head when needed.
The DP6 is nice and I like SmallHD. I will however upgrade to the AC7 OLED to get a 8 bit and full sRGB panel. While using the 5D mk3 I've gotten used to looking at the LCD in the back and I basically know what I see there is what I'll see on my computer later on. I'm expecting the AC7 to show me true to life colors and a very good representation of what the recorded image will be like.
The HDMI cable from Apple is a bit of a gem. It's actually pretty cheap and thin enough to be easy to handle. Especially with the C100, it wraps nicely around the inside of the handle and has enough length to let you separate monitor and camera for jibs or sliding shots.
The Fotga DP500 II follow focus is a cheap china product but it is very nicely built indeed. It allows you to set two hard stops and that is also the one weakness I see at the moment: there is no way to "park" the hard stops away when not using them. They'll be kind of dangling if you need to turn the FF more than 360 degrees for long focus throws. since I currently use Canon glass where the throw isn't that huge I manage. I get very close to needing the full 360 degrees on some lenses, but it works.
The lens in the shot is the 16-35 2.8L II. I also use the 24-105 4L IS, 70-200 2.8L IS II and the Sigma 50 1.4

Andree, thanks for the write up. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I'm in the phase of moving over from 5d mk3's to the C100's... I want two.. One will be stripped for my steadicam, the other will be like you have it.
I was thinking of buying a Zacuto loupe that will fit to the "Liveview" screen on the back of the c100 and to use that when I'm hand holding.. I have a zacuto EVF but I want my system to be lightweight and as portable as possible, so. ill probably ebay it!!

Yes, I've been using a LCDVF for my mk3 and it adds invaluable support when hand holding. I would very much like to find something similar for the C100. As it is now I use a monopod for "hand holding" and leave the baseplate on.
Now, I've got the Zacuto baseplate, but other than that I try to avoid them. I'm sure their quality is good, but I can't deal with their unsympathetic rig prices.
You guys make me jealous with all that fancy equipment. I have the c100 in the box still but don't have time to really use it, which sucks. I'm sort of interested in the Redrock Ultra Cage, but that zacuto base seems very nice and slim. I'm just broke at the moment lol. Having two kids can do that.

So I'm recovering from this weekend shoot. The question about the lens. I'm using BNCR mount lens, Nikon Superspeeds. I've reused a lot of my gear from previous stuff. The only addition was a Zacuto Gorilla baseplate. I have the option to attach my ninja to that instead of the handle depending on the situation. All the additional gear does add weight. But I like the weight for handheld stuff. It damps the movement. Of course for live events, info gathering I'll just use the bare camera with internal codec. Here's some pics from my shoot this weekend.

Andree, I'm thinking about selling my 16-35 II. I will not be shooting DSLR video in the future and the 16-35 is a rather limiting zoom size when using it with a s35 sensor x1.5 crop. I've heard great things about the 18-135 stm so I might buy 1 of these and use the extra cash to put towards the second C100... I hate selling lenses...but, 24-52 is neither wide enough or long enough..... Looking for a convincing argument to make me stick with the 16-35!!!

The 16-35 II is small and if you are in stealth shooting mode, then it helps. People will think that you are some wannabe photographer and ignore.
The 16-35 L II USM lens is a L series lens with weather sealing. You can shoot in rain and dust storm without dust getting into the lens. We ought to have confidence on our equipment to push it to the limits. Unless we can extract the maximum juice out of our equipment, it is a waste.
