I don't hate the Scarlet. Never have. I just don't drink Kool-aid and I'm not a fanboy. The thread is "Where is the Red Scarlet footage". I'm just as interested as anyone else. But if budget and price were of no concern, I'd buy an Alexa or the C300 for what and how I would use a camera.the more you hate the scarlet, the more i want it![]()

There's a strong resentment against anything from RED by some people. There probably always will be. Personally I think until you actually use one, edit the footage and see what you can do, one shouldn't make judgments. I've shot and edited multiple shorts on a RED ONE and an MX and always have had a great experience. Very easy to edit on my dual core machine. And having 4K footage gave me options for cropping and framing the final output-- options I wouldn't have had if I shot in HD. But hey, I wasn't shooting talking orange videos for Youtube, so maybe my needs and workflow don't mesh with most of the users here.
I would be nice to see all modes (frame rates and res) shown. Well all know that it can do 24p 4K. Lets see the rest of it being 60fps 2k, 48 fps 3k, and yes the 120 fps 1k (I've heard there is problems with the 120 fps 1k).

What I'm asking for is footage. To see this camera in action. Even RED has no time to share the camera in action?
I forget where I read it, but someone stated that it wasn't functioning as of yet. But, if someone would ACTUALLY show that it is, then we would know. Although, I think the function is worthless anyway.
And this is a logical business perspective because...?
This is the reason I check this thread occasionally. The camera has been released. Yes? (if not, fine, we're patiently waiting) If the camera has been released, why are there not dozens or hundreds of sample clips of flowers and water and city streets on Vimeo?
If you think editing R3D takes a hefty computer then you're repeating lies. Plain and simple. My dual core 2.6 with 4G of RAM can edit 4K footage just fine.

Of course. But it's not the insurmountable obstacle that is described everywhere. so many people are just repeating what they heard from other people who never tried the cam themselves. For straight edits, but anything beyond that you are going to need a pretty good computer. Plus hard drive space. Lets not kid ourselves or others. Owning a RED is not cheap compared to a non-professional camera.
