Red Scarlet Announcement Info

This is a total fiasco....shouldn't RED have anticipated this demand? Both reduser and red are completely useless...no way I give my cc information over these barely working pages...how many people actually placed an order?

Enjoy the ride mrkz1974! :)
You may never witness this again for the rest of your life.
Innovation meets competition at a critical transitional moment.
If they pull off the manufacturing....this is going to be HISTORIC. (hhmmm....maybe that's what Canon meant...) lol

Canon will rise another day....they better not wait too long though...lol

By the way, the Epic at 35k$ etc...are you telling me that the one or two measly circuitry boards that are missing in the Scarlet supposedly make up the price differential from 10k to 35k? So the 'circuit boards' in the Epic cost $25,000 more than Scarlet?? That's hard to believe, for that price you can buy like 15 Core i7 computers that can power a 30k resolution sensor lol...
Uh, no. Brain price is around 10K -- EPIC-X brain price is around 28K. That makes an 18K~ difference; reasonable, no? 18K for enough boards to power 120FPS @ 5K... yeah, we got this shait.

Whats DDos attack?

Denial of service attack. Typically its when someone floods your site to try to stop your site from providing service. (Hackers do this to expose your system...and to take your company "off the grid".)

No more than likely it's "anonymous" 4chan hackers wanting to spoil peoples fun as usual

Doubt it, I suspect the excitement around these announcements has simply boiled to a fever pitch. Put it down to a highly-enthusiastic community! The important thing to me, is whether I can order the early-bird package with a Nikon mount. I don't own a single Canon lens :(

3K @ 48fps instead of the promised 120fps
50MB/s instead of the promised 100MB/s
50% higher price than the last announced price, which was double the pre-HDRx price
sharing Epic sensor and binning Epic chips should've REDUCED price (of Scarlet AND Epic)

On the other hand
larger sensor = doubles as a stills camera (now is DSMC as promised)
replacing both my cameras instead of just one = justifies a higher price

Lived up to the hype? Happy with tonight's announcement? Not a chance.

Worth the price? Would I be excited right now if not for all the aforementioned hype? Heck yes.

Well unless you're calling the Red team liars, but I'm not assuming or anything, it was officially stated by Red that their sites have been under ATTACK by hackers since the announcement ceremonies began

On the other hand, larger sensor means it doubles as a stills camera, which makes it worth a lot more

Not sure how I feel.

Just quickly think about what you can get at that price and that might change your feeling. I don't think the specs are blowing anyones minds. Its the fact it has all of that for that price (even at 14k or whatever for a set up, which is right in the price range of the F3).
