Hi I have a few questions that I haven't found in the rules or in other posts, maybe it's obvious but I just want to make sure:
1. What if I want to make changes to the outline that conflict with my original pitch?
Do those changes have to be 'greenlit' as well?
2. My story has an open ending, to leave room for a sequel. Kind of empire strikes back style sad ending, the quest could be over at this point. However, the sequel will have a more conclusive ending to the main character's quest. Is this allowed, or must there be a definite, closed ending?
Thanks!
Martin
If your story *drastically* changes to the point that it renders your pitch invalid, then yes.... But, if the theme largely stays the same.... you should be fine. If you aren't sure, it certainly won't hurt to submit a pitch again to be on the safe side.
2. sounds fine to me. sounds more like an artistic choice. whether successful or not, will be left to the audience to decide. It won't be of our concern when reviewing pitches. We mainly just want you to show us that you understand the theme and that it is central and integral to your story. How your movie ends, is up to you.
