looking like it will be the same as last time... We just couldnt' get around to rolling out a whole new system in time for this one, but it's still in the works.

Any new information on:

1. the DVX leader?

2. However we do this, we will make every reasonable effort to have the upload page available to you by Monday, June 22nd, 2009, and have it remain open until the upload deadline passes. This will allow you plenty of time to upload your film for rules compliance screening, and to make any necessary adjustments.

I'm concerned about the 'hard R' rating...

what specifically are you concerned about with the hard r rating? you can pm if you prefer...

just put the uploading process in motion. Hopefully we can have that set up for you by tomorrow.

I'll check into the leaders and see where we are with that.

question about the leaders. Our film (and I assume maybe a couple others) is 2.35:1. All of the leaders are 16:9. What are our options? Can we crop the leaders or pillarbox them, technically both those options would be "visually altering" the leader, but I REALLY don't want to have to letterbox my whole movie to fit the aspect ratio of the leader.

If you can crop the leader without cutting off any of the content, then that will be acceptable. Otherwise Pillarboxing is probably the best option.

For Jason Ramsey or other mods: when are we allowed to screen our movie elsewhere? I want to show a longer version of my film, and promote trailers etc. When are we officially allowed to do this? After all votes are in? What date will that be?

Also: somewhere in this thread someone asked about posting BTS footage. Another person speculated it should be alright. Yet in the rules it says absolutely no footage of any kind. Can the mods give a final verdict on this please? Thanks!

when the first round of finalists are announced, if you aren't one if them, you can screen your film outside the festival. however, if your film is well received and still in the running to be a top three finalist and prize winner, you will have to further postpone outside exhibition viewing until the end of the festival (late July).
