i finally figured it out how to install the Gh13 Firmware!!!!! "Boy, I am good!" hey Vitaliy, if you need any help with hacking let me know! LOL..

Did you also modify audio bitrate? Can you post a clip somewhere?

Hi All,
If this has been answered then feel free to let me know where.

I've previously used this patch to go from NTSC to Pal, and to go to English.
But would like to try the video quality settings, but my main concern is I still want to be able to play it back on the camera itself...

Is there a table or posting that lets you know what settings if applied still let you view the footage in the camera (GH1)

Eg I want to do MJPEF E1 Quality (to be honest I just want MJPEG quality better, so not sure what one to use?)

Also the A,B and C settings for AVCHD usnig Testers suggestions, and using Native 24p/25p settings

Will cahnging these still let me view the video in the camera?

if you want to play video back on the camera, don't modifying audio bitrate! everything else you can modify "usnig Testers suggestions". atleset that is what i did, and i am able to play video on my camera.
 
hey guys, you're asking questions that are clearly answered on the first page. especially the can you play back files in camera. it's highlighted in bold yellow letters. please read throughly before posting.

But for me it wasn't clear, thus the question.
In Yellow it says ***YOU CAN NOW PLAYBACK FILES IN CAMERA USING THE NATIVE 24P PATCH.***
But I did not know if that meant any changes to AVCHD and MJPEG settings or just the 24p patch.

I also checked ***Go here to view successful settings for MJPEG and AVCHD***

There's a lot of info there again, but still uncertain if changing the settings I mentioned were still playable..

At least GH13 has confirmed that it does, GH13 did you also do MJPEG, I trying to see of Tester had recommended settings for this too.

Will this hack enable video recording on a G1? Given that the whole lack of a microphone or audio input thing might make it a bit less exciting, but being able to capture video on my G1 would be pretty slick.

Not improbable as it's the same sensor in th Gh1, but highly unlikely as its cpu is different than the Gh1.
 
Hello, thank you tester13 for this great patch. I have a question, does the AVC bitrate adjustment just patch the FHD-Mode of my GH1 or does it also affect the three 720p-Modes? Thank you very much.

@Chryso, thanks for your link, it worked. How is one supposed to find such a link, or the one to the newer pTool? I will let you know about my GF1 experiences as soon as I get it to work.
 
Ah, it's much easier than I thought it was, a pTool manual is being created with a link to the pTool, even in a Wined Mac Version! Thanks Tesselator.
 
I can see that many other threads converged into this big massive thread. I went through the FAQ because I want to ask my sister from California to bring me a couple of SD Cards but it says "any REAL Class 10 card should work". I visited amazon and I really cannot say what's real and what's not real. The other SD card discussion thread was compiling a log useful info about people who made a lot of tests with a lot of different sd cards. Anyway, I sum it up:

- Does the Transcend Class 10 16mb work?

buy, try it, return it. there's no solid answer for cards right now. the best so far being used is the SandDisk Extreme 3
