Yes i have no doubt i have watched Markus Starks films with a Leica 400mm,but i was hoping for better results with the Lumix on the GH5,the fact the RX10 111 with a fixed lens on clear zoom well beets it is disgusting. That's one of the reasons I got the Canon 100-400-II for a couple of hundred bucks more than the Panny - and the wicked-sharp Canon does beautifully even with a 2X TC (none available for the Panny). Here's a little 4K video of some flashy Allen's hummingbirds migrating through the Monterey Bay area recently. GH4/100-400, Standard 'style" with minor offsets and no grading, handheld in a breeze, mainly @ 400mm. AF-S and MF w/peaking. The 4-stop OIS is fantastic and almost tames my 77 year old somewhat shakey body! The GH5 4K 60p on a 30p timeline would have been perfect if I'd had it then.

Some gorgeous footage--
"One area that fell outside the scope of this review was an in-depth analysis of the GH5's 10-bit vs. 8-bit video modes. Suffice it to say that 10-bit video looks fantastic, and we're looking forward to exploring this in detail as a standalone article. Stay tuned. "
I think it's because very few NLE's will edit the 10bit yet. It requires transcoding for the most part at this point. Just watching with MPC-HC 64 bit, the 10 bit footage is quite impressive. When pixel peeping around in it, it's cleaner and just looks better to my eye. I think it's significant vs the 8 bit footage, but I can't prove it due to Vegas not being able to see it yet.A missed chance and one would wonder why?
I think the jury is still out if the GH5 has a true 10 bit resolution or if it is mostly marketing dithering and if 10 bit log footage has improved significantly over the 8 bit GH4.
This video certainly seems to show a difference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBjQojrvCg8
I keep hearing of people having problems with editing the 10-bit... on Windows 10 Premiere Pro latest version I have had zero issue (at least that I am aware of?) Importing 10-bit 4K footage both in CineD and VlogL. Is there something I am missing?
It is broken in Resolve 12.5.5, on earlier versions it worked.I keep hearing of people having problems with editing the 10-bit... on Windows 10 Premiere Pro latest version I have had zero issue (at least that I am aware of?) I don't know what the color grader of that video was thinking because if you crush the shadows into the blacks there isn't much of a point using log recording. This video certainly seems to show a difference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBjQojrvCg8

And where is the testing on log footage?

Marketing dithering??? Only if you choose to ignore the stuff that has been out there for over a month. Plenty of people have seen a clear advantage. it may not be as good as 10bit external but it is a huge improvement over log on the GH4. If Paul Leeming sees a clear advantage to the 10bit then it is there.
