I'm sitting in the Paramount theater resting my feet. 45 minutes to go. Still plenty of room in the
theater. But it will be packed at show time.

I think Panasonic has to be mindful with the footage they choose to show (if they do).

There is so much anticipation for this camera and if it's not in its optimal form of operation then I think they shouldn't provide footage.

I have followed the release of every single camera that has been made in the last 7-8 years, and the backlash has been getting more brutal every year. Apparently everyone is an expert and engineers cameras for a living.

You can't please everyone, but people are very quick to judge and sometimes don't understand difficult lighting conditions or post-production choices, and quickly write off a camera. This is probably not who you want to sell a professional cinema camera to anyway, but lots of negative feedback can't be good because it spreads like wild fire and humans are easily convinced.

But of course if they have an unbelievable promo film with something for everyone and it looks amazing then we'll be watching it soon.

I still remember how badly that C300 MKII launch short film was roasted.

And is that film any indication of the cameras capabilities? You give the same camera in ANY state to 5 different people, you're gonna get 5 completely different outcomes.

If it's not a finished camera, what are the chances they can improve upon it between now and fall based on the feedback given by people like us?
Hardware changes?
Just software changes?
None of the above?

...I'm sure that the feature set has been set, so it's all about implementation of those features and de-bugging the hardware/software combo from this point on.

The trick to do a good demo video of a camera is not to do it. Instead take a good story and handle it in the best way with script, talent, location etcetera, and that'll show far more and to boot be something worthwhile to watch. Instead so many falls into showing off the camera feature virtuous and just ignore if it's something an audience will appreciate.

Everyone is going to watch this livestream for the new camera, I wonder how deep they are going to burry the lead? I am going to lose my mind if I have to watch 40 minutes of mundane power points about upcoming firmware for existing equipment beforehand.

I catch your drift, yea, proceed to go, camera porn aint your thing.

Accept tech heads will want more then a good story ;) I'm more interested in the specifics.
