And Sony; apparently they're releasing the F5 successor tomorrow.

nothing like a good ol' rib on the rival camp ;) I like your style Barry. Should be interesting couple of days, I just wish I was in LA to witness it myself... maybe next year.

I don't mind a Cfast2 option if there's an SD option, as well. One of the things I don't like about Ursa Mini Pro is you can't dual-codec record, like you can with C200. Technically, I don't need proxy media straight from camera as FCPX does a nifty job of that transcode, but the reason C200 fails for me in that regard is I don't need raw, and though a raw+proxy dual record is nice, I don't need raw, I need 10-bit 422 internal... and then have a proxy dual-recorded from that, maybe. But, having to lug around an external recorded AND those batteries, AND that media, AND those cables, etc, etc, it's just more things to fail or forget during a shoot. I need all internal. UMP gets a lot of that right, but without the dual-codec record. DVX200 does it. I imagine this new camera will, too. Not sure what kind of media slots it'll have, but the inexpensive workflow, to me, sounds like SD and/or Cfast2 cards. Or, again, maybe Panasonic has a new codec up their sleeve, or a new method of utilizing an older codec like AVC-Ultra. No idea. I'm saying it might not be JUST the camera they reveal today. It might be, as might be implied by the teaser marketing material, an entire workflow.
Why not SSD...it will do Prores HQ at 800mbps, is robust media and reasonably priced...is there something I'm missing about SSD?

Have to say I'm impressed with Panasonic's no leaks capability...I've been playing Go for decades and Panny's strategy is rock solid...

Might get both at the same time depending on how you're viewing the forum.

Here is why I state it would be "nice" to see footage (no matter the content or the quality). I want to see cameras, not concepts. Working progress cameras with the guts inside ticking. Not a "here is what we plan and if you hold out until fall (if we can make that deadline ***blackmagic***Red**** cough cough) you will be rewarded. So don't look at other cameras until then please. Just look at our plastic model of promise". I've grown weary of that marketing approach. The "see what we kinda have and kinda plan" marketing.

Just an opinion. Now if there is a working camera, even if just connected to a monitor pointing at a set, all will be better on their end and most likely yours.

I would also like to see some material. The c200 and new Panasonic may be announced at the same event today but the c200 is out there in the hands of reviewers and we are already starting to see material from it. If we get no material today the c200 may definitely have the marketing jump here even if the specs on the Panasonic are amazing. People like tangible things.

If it's not a finished camera, what are the chances they can improve upon it between now and fall based on the feedback given by people like us?
Hardware changes?
Just software changes?
None of the above?
