Odyssey/Apollo firmware 2016.10

This is the first I've heard of it. Please contact cdsupport@convergent-designcom so our engineers can investigate this further.

What frame rate were you shooting?
Was PROJECT RATE set to FOLLOWS INPUT or to a different frame rate? (If set to a different frame rate this can be changed using the CD ProRes Transfer Tool easily or fixed in your edit program not-so-easily.)

Hi Mitch,

Has anyone reported problems with audio sync when using the Titan HD Extract function? Any way to fix it?

Shot on FS700, both 2, 3 and 4 streams.

Transferred with ProResTransfer 2.5 on a Mac.

Wait, just realized this. We released the original 2016.10 firmware and then followed it with a patch version just a few days later. The patch was specifically to address an audio sync issue when using Apollo and Titan modes. Please make sure that you are on the latest firmware build, which is 2016.10.1641. It is available for download from our website.

I see that it's only an issue on the material I shot on the 2016.10 firmware - all good now, thanks! :-)

Hi Mitch,
I'm very pleased with mine but what can you tell us about a new O7Q ? I am pretty sure that there is one (with a few nits?) in the pipeline.
You can answer me in french for more discretion. Your 4879 post !
(PS : I said earlier "I'm the next president and I approve this m...." Mmmmmmh I'm not ... and I regret this sentence)

Right, because if there was such a thing coming I would be revealing it here, in a random post #64 in an update thread, and in French.

No news. Odyssey / Apollo / Titan line is doing great. The OLED screen is one of the most accurate in the industry, and certainly by far the most accurate within the price range.

Hey Mitch,

Are files recorded with firmmware 16.10 totally compatible with Premiere CC 17 and vice-versa?
Wanna make sure it's 100% solid before updating!

Thanks!

Hi Mitch,

so far loving my O7Q I just bought just weeks ago, but as I am shooting with the Sony FS5, and I know that S-Log3 support for 4K Raw to ProRes conversions is an active development at CD - is there a timeline you can share or an approximate time frame at least for when you are expecting it to be released as a firmware update? Thanks again for all your help.

hi there, does anyone else experience the Battery display glitch ??
FW 2016.10.1641 did the factory reset a few times still the same..Bildschirmfoto 2016-11-26 um 18.01.33.jpgBildschirmfoto 2016-11-26 um 18.01.40.jpgBildschirmfoto 2016-11-26 um 18.02.03.jpgBildschirmfoto 2016-11-26 um 18.02.12.jpg

@Mitch,

Will the 7q+ ever receive a firmware update that allows a LUT to be backed into the files the way Atomos gives that option to their consumers?

As an owner and operator of a Canon C500 with the 7Q+ (4K bundle enable) it becomes very time consuming to re-render out my 4K LOG files with an applied LUT.

Thanks

Respectfully,
Leo

Any news on fixing the issue that was introduced with this firmware release that created weird rolling video when pulldown is applied? But only on the iso feeds?

Mitch,

Also sorry to keep pestering for this I also have a C500 & 7Q Setup. Would there anyway of getting 120fps out of the 2k at all its in the menu.

Have you stopped/finished everything with the C500 now.

Thanks guys your support is really appreciated.

Dear Leo,

When we added our comprehensive LUT capabilities, we were worried that some would accidently bake-in a LUT, which can be disastrous, as they can't always be undone.

We do understand why one would like to "bake-in" a LUT, as they greatly helps clients that just want to "Cut" the footage, but not perform any color correction or application of a LUT. Of course, if is very easy to apply a LUT in Post, if one has knowledge of their Non-Linear Editor.

If we decide to "bake-in" a LUT, then we will need to put out significant warnings to alert the user.

I will discuss this with our team.

Yes, this will be fixed in our next firmware release.

Dear Oliver,

I am sorry, but I doubt that we will be able to work in 120fps in HD or 2K for the C500.

We would like to help, but our development schedule is already packed full.

If you have our Raw Bundle, then you can record 4K H Raw at 120fps and then convert this to HD via the Canon Raw Development software.

Thank You Dan,

This is such a shame is it a feature we can request?
It is just the half raw eats hard drive. Is a link to the workflow in half raw?

Dear Chris,

When recording in C500 4K H Raw (Half Raw, meaning Half Vertical Resolution), the Canon Raw Development Software is typically used to process the 4K H Raw data.

This software is available from Canon's website.

Typically, one selects one of the output formats available in this program, and the program then performs the conversion to a very useful format.

any chance of implementing the style of peaking found on the SmallHd monitors? I don't know to explain it (almost like a sharpening control or peaking on the old school CRT viewfinders) --I find it somehow easier to interpret than than the types of peaking on there now.
