Just in case the above isn't working go to:

and search for NEX-FS100E

The next page that comes up has the link to the firmware on the second line.

You will have to log in or register with Sony Europe to get the download.

I assume this is only for the FS100E/EK/P/PK models.

Yep.... Same firmware for both. At least as far as I have been told by Sony Asia reps.

I have the FS100P as well and will be taking the risk at the first available opportunity (in a few hours).

Don't quote me on it though!!!!!

Trying to upload firmware now with macbook pro. Getting "application does not work with 64-bit kernel. Please run it on the 32-bit kernel." Huh?

So it looks like Sony didn't make the upload app compatible with 64 bit processing.
 
I haven't installed yet, but this is whats available acording to the info that comes with the download:

PAL/NTSC switchable

15 Autofocus Points for LA-EA2 - Aperture is set to maximum aperture of lens with a minimum aperture of f3.5 (so lenses with smaller apertures will not aoutofocus - zoom lenses with variable aperture will I assume only autofocus at focus lengths that can utilise an aperture of 3.5 or larger).

Autofocus Micro adjustment - Once focus is set for eack lens (Sony, Minolta, Konika Minolta) you can move the focus slightly forwward or back using a numerical scale from -20 to +20. Minusing moves focus back, plusing moves focus forward. Camera remembers information for up to 30 lenses (again Sony, Minolta and Konika Minolta only)

ISO/Gain Switchable; Auto ISO Limit; and ISO Set:
The value you can select depends on the [GAMMA] setting of PICTURE PROFILE as follows:
– [STANDARD]: from ISO500 to ISO16000
– [CINEMATONE1]: from ISO500 to ISO16000
– [CINEMATONE2]: from ISO400 to ISO12800
– [ITU709]: from ISO500 to ISO16000

Three aspect ratios [1.66:1]/[1.85:1]/[2.35:1] have been added

4x and 8x expan focus added

Focus display in meters or feet added

Sutter speed/angle selectable

Load/Save/Delete picture profiles - up to 99 stored by numer only (bummer)

Zebra/Peaking output through HDMI/Component/Video Outs
 
Thanks for your help, Rick! Made the update. Here are some takeaways...

1) It erases your picture profiles. So make a record of them if they aren't online!
2) There are still only 6 slots for picture profiles
3) No switchable gain from the LCD
 
No problem :) I've had to switch my kernel before for some software.

Still waiting on the US update to show up...nothing yet.
 
Make sure you don't load new profiles until after you shut the camera down after the update and then turn in back on. I customized everything, shut it off, then turned it back on and everything was lot.
