My bad, didn't mean to throw a molotov there.
But then I go and help a friend with a nano budget music video (country!! gahhh!) yesterday and get stuff like this: (shot flat too)

...and I forgive Canon for releasing these HDSLR's half-baked.
Ok, full disclosure:
It's an uncorrected 5D2 video frame. We shot 30p to be slowed down to 24p for the video. Changed the audio for her to sing to. Just wanted that slightly trippy effect. I will be using the 7D on another shoot for this piece.
I have no doubts that I could basically get the same look with the 7D, I just had a few lenses with me and wanted the Zeiss 50mm 1.4 to have the full FOV.
Please tell me that's a 720 frame.
Test has been run. Shot in "neutral" mode, with zero sharpening, using a Zeiss ZF 50mm lens at f/5.6. Tripod was locked down, absolutely nothing changed between the first shot and the second, other than the firmware. Shot in 720 mode and 1080 mode, then updated the firmware, and shot again in 720 mode and 1080 mode.
Here are pixel-for-pixel extractions of each shot:

Conclusion: absolutely no differences detected. No improvement whatsoever in version 1.09 firmware, regarding aliasing or moire or pixel-binning or anything else. (nor was there claimed to be any, in the firmware release notes).

Wrong thread?Hey Barlow,
What a joke, huh?
What do you get when you graft a 7D to a hummer?
$5000.00 poorer?
Everyone wants to see in the dark but, shesh, I'm pretty ugly with the lights "on"
See you tomorrow - go to bed!

Here is a quick grab of a short I'm working on, shot all on the 7D, and you obviously can see how putrid this camera really is. I mean I almost puked when I saw the horrible way it handled theses Flat Settings. I almost would like to :violent5: this camera, but I'm not sure if my insurance will cover the damages.
