anyone know a good on camera monitor for the a1 that flips the image(for dof adapter)? I need something around 500 bucks.Thanks...

There is none with high enough resolution in that range unless you just need it for framing, in which case this Varizoom monitor will do the trick. It's composite out only and very low res, but it will flip the image.

If you want to be able to focus then the next step up is the Ikan V8000HD monitor for $750, although it's pretty hard to find one as they're out of stock everywhere. Next level is the $1300 Marshall. Keep in mind that neither ones come with batteries or mounting arm, so add an extra $300 to that.

if i used that with a Steadicam Merlin, do you think it would work well under 5lbs with the A1?

I think you're already pushing the limits with the A1 alone. I wouldn't want to add any more weight with the Merlin. That is unless you picked up the vest/arm with the metal gimbal.

alright, right now I do not own either the Merlin nor the Varizoom. Which is a better investment overall? Currently i have the spiderbrace 2 but that's not good for doing alot of motion video(shakiness).

What do you all think?
