So, as anticipated, it took a year for the prices to drop (+ PhotoKina, which might bring all sorts of product announcements)

Well that's painful. I was hoping the price drop would be further off. Oh well.

Hopefully I can get $4000 credited back for the C300 Mark II Zacuto kit I bought about 28 days ago on B&H.

Finally, that puts the C300 MKII down where it should be, or at least closer. $3,999.00 for the C100 MKII is a solid deal too!

Eric-
You should talk to B & H....hopefully they can do something.......

That's a pretty significant drop, considering the 300/II has only been on the street for what, maybe 10 months?

Jim is right, call them. The worst they can say is NO. They may work with you since you're probably still within the return/refund period and you could probably return it if you really wanted to be a #@$%, to get all of your money back, then buy it again at the new price. Which would be a hassle for both parties. Some places even guarantee the price for X days, so it's no hassle if there are price drops. If it were only a few hundred bucks, no biggie, but $4K is a tougher pill to swallow. Good luck

Damn. That puts it just a little over $26K. If they had had that rebate in December, I probably would have pulled the trigger.

I called B&H and they said they would refund the $4000, so I'm happy about that.

I'm still rather unhappy about the price drop in general, though. I got my first C300 Mark II when it first came out in November, so just eight months ago. I'd expect the camera to maintain its price for at least a year or two before dropping to give owners the time to profit off of their investment. I was expecting another nine months at the price of $16k.

I'm guessing Canon found they overpriced the camera a bit and were losing a lot of sales to the FS7, so decided to drop the price earlier than initially planned.

The C300 mkII is now the same price as the C500 + Odyssey 7Q Kit, making the C500 essentially pointless now. What's the advantage over the C300 mkII? 4K 60p raw/prores to an external recorder?

What do you mean...its a C500...not a C300....its like....200 better.

And the FS700 is 200 better than the C500. I don't know why anyone would want a measly FS7; such a downgrade. Don't even get me started on the Red One.
You can catch Eric every Friday and Saturday night at Sal's in Atlantic City....2 show both nights!....and be sure to tip your waiter & waitresses!

Well ****, then the VX1000 is obviously better than all of them! I'm gonna get one off ebay for $50 right now!

If you're really looking to up your game, for $3600 you can get the absolute best camera there is, the Infinity HD.

It even has a dedicated button for WB while a lot of Sony cameras expect you to go into the menu to fine tune WB.

Actually, you don't want that. You want the Infinity 1, which is 5 MP.

Sorry, I meant Infinity 2. Infinity 1 is for amateurs.

I can't wait for the Infinity 3 to come out.

So does the C100 MKII price drop indicate a pending C100 MKIII, or that it's getting smashed by the FS5?
Or just an indication of age and I'm reading too much into it :-P
(but please let it be a MKIII!)
