C100: New Atomos Ninja Blade With HDMI

The Pix 220 does. In fact, what with that and scaling, it's the second party trick after great mic pre-amps.

The Pix240 does too.

That's what I'll stay with for now unless this is fixed.

Just wish the screen didn't suck and that it weighs as much as a brick.

Just got back from a trip and haven't looked at footage I shot last week yet with the C300 and NB. I'm reviewing the Genus Mini Jib and also wanted to test out the Ninja Blade finally. I'll see if these issue are present on my copy.

Pix 240 is my go-to recorder. I have most all of them and I like it best--never fails!
Was thinking about a Ninja Blade for size/weight reasons, but no deal now.

Back from yet another chromakey shoot on the NB, doing another one tomorrow - shooting the C100's 25psf output onto the NB set at 50i, everything set back to progressive in Premiere and FCPX - no problem. Ditto 29.97 for a shoot next week - workflow all tested, a couple of extra steps, but not a show stopper.

24P? Bummer. Have to do 3:2 pulldown removal. So the NB won't go out on any 24p jobs quite yet. But then again, I'm a UK/EU shooter. What, me worry?

I have a Pix 220 and a NB. I spent all of 3 seconds debating between taking the Pix220 or the NB this morning. I still reckon that, whilst we wait, the screen, the C100 compatibility and the negligable bulk in comparison to the Pix still win. I'll be taking the NB to tomorrow's shoot too. At least it's earning. Unlike the Pix.

Just got word from Atomos facebook page that a FIX is coming next week and they will post when it's ready. This is good news for all of us. Sounds like they made this fix top priority based on all the complaints

I checked a bunch of shots but I see it only on shots that had red and orange in them like the sample. It doesn't seem to show in the left side of the frame.

Yes - http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?321131-Edelkrone-EVF-Holder-with-Ninja-Blade-on-C100

Our Tilta shoulder support arrived yesterday, with a Zacuto grip relocator on order. The combination of those plus the Edelkrone EVF Holder is looking very promising.

The idea is to create a solid and stable but compact unit with ENG ergonomics. The number 7, focus expand, button is now assigned to AF lock, giving us the opportunity to use our new focus upgrade to rack focus and the Ninja Blade sits comfortably forward, allowing easy focus expand by tapping it with the left hand.

Will post updates when I get a mo.

Ben.

The other thing that i am trying to figure out is the analog audio in. I sent audio from my mixpre-d to the ninja butt level is extremely low, even at +12db on the ninja.

Are you running out of the tape output on the Mix PreD? Their specs state a regular -10dBu line level, whereas Atomos specs state an extremely vague, "2 analogue channels with gain controls."

I take it you're not using the C100 handle/pre-amps. If you are, I'd personally run line level out from the Mix PreD via XLRs to the C100 - less potential noise, more robust connections. If I was a betting man, I'd also wager that the A to D stage in the C100 is probably better quality than that in the Ninja.
