NAB 2017 rumors?

Nikon Rumors (off the Japanese web site which name is censored out by the DVXUser) reports that, within the next week, Nikon will announce D7500 (which was previously rumored to be only D7300, so this actual one is 200 more, making it the highest numbered APS-C DXXX camera in the world). It will reportedly have 4K, with the degree of self-cripple yet to be ascertained.

Again Nikon fail to take video seriously. And they don't even have any video centric cameras to protect.

Imagine the GH5 video features bundled in with Nikon stills capabilities.

:(

Meanwhile, the full frame Sony A7 can be had for around $1,000 with a 24-70 lens included. OK, it's not the best lens but it's an actual full frame camera!

As to D7500, unless one already has Nikon glass, Nikon T-shirts and Nikon license plates, A6500 delivers so much more for just $lightly more.

I often wonder who sets ups these decors at these camera fairs. NAB, IBC, photokina the decors are always so damned bad. They want to showcase their camera, but I always feel underwelmed by them, just create something popular like a decor from Indiana Jones, drop in the same lighting as they used. And voila you got yourself a whole more lot of enjoyable time at these camera fairs. (Panasonic had a cool setup for their varicam @ IBC with the bookcases though).

Wow, just a week or so away from NAB and the strongest gossip is about a Nikon DSLR? This is going to be a sucky NAB, glad I am not booked for it.

I was just thinking the same thing as I looked over my calendar. This place used to be buzzing from mid March onward. I take it as a good sign than many of us are happy with our cameras. :)

There are a few camcorder (Sony, Panasonic) rumors.

Once again, this is the year to go to NAB and drink and party, because you don't have to worry about getting up and going to see anything at the show(camera wise, at least).

If you're going to Vegas to drink and party, you definitely would do different things and wouldn't be in bed until 10am and then you'd sleep all day.

No point in wasting money to go to NAB if you're not going to take advantage of the entire experience and the opportunity to learn and network.

I just take it as a sign that manufacturers are being tighter regarding leaks. The rumor sites are generating more noise than info in the last year or two, with actual announcements often being leaked just one or two days in advance, if not hours.

But you can write your trip of debauchery off if you're "going to NAB".

Ok, I'm being slightly facetious. My point is, is that this isn't a huge camera year(I've been told that since the beginning of the year from people that would know if it was). Probably not a huge 'ground breaking' tech year, period. I was told it was going to be another "accessory year", which I'm absolutely fine with. Let me milk my F55, C300 and VariCams(P2, lol) for a little while longer.

Let's see some new quality LED's(waiting on my Hive 100-C's right now). Maybe some new power/battery products. And not that I need anymore, but lenses, too.

Heh..Remember some folks have their employers pay for it or are happy expensing a tax deductible vaca.
