T2i my T2i cage + rails + focus puller

I finally have my T2i system assembled-- photos attached. T2i, carbon fiber cage with rails from cpmfilmtools.com including detachable shoulder rig for run 'n gun, Jag35 focus puller. Just thought I would share photos in case anybody is thinking of assembling something similar and wanted a photo reference. Note: colored plastic washers come in several colors, I chose the neon green, but cpmfilmtools also has orange and black, maybe blue I can't recall.

nice! thanks for posting.
how do u like the CPM gear? and what size cage is that?

I like the cpm gear, although I had some issues, now resolved. They had a design flaw with their camera plate (did not hold camera snug, allowed swivel) that I pointed out and they redesigned and fixed it and now it works great.

Minor flaw-- if I use a (green) washer on the front bottom bolts, I can't get the cage to insert into my B-M tripod, a minor thing, I just do not use the washers there.

I bought the DSLR shooter cage (and also the shoulder rig). I ended up NOT using the front rectangular part of the cage (not in my picture, as I removed it, don't use it), it just gets in the way of the focus puller and such, so you could save money not getting a full cage in that regard.

But the aesthetics rock-- carbon fiber, black, matte finish, strong yet light, very techno Terminator Cyberwars looks, lots of holds and spots for attaching things.

Customer service ("Steve"; he is here on dvxuser and follows posts about cpmfilmtools gear on the cinem. forum here) is platinum, very personalized. Steve worked with me one on one and helped resolve all issues, five stars for customer service.

One thing that is tricky is that this was my first cage, rails system. When ordering from cpmfilmtools.com it is very tricky to know exactly what I needed for a complete system in order to slide my camera on and mount it to my tripod. And shipping is not cheap if you end up doing several orders. So get straight what you want ahead of time, talk with Steve at cpmfilmtools before ordering. Or i you want a complete system ready to go except for the camera and focus puller, tell Steve you want everything that I have in my complete system, then you will know nothing is lacking, show him this thread so he can see the photos.

great. yeh Steve's great ...been talking to him about some stuff. I was all set on getting my shooter rig but something came up and had to use the cash but i needed a monitor first so i ordered that while i use it with my diy shoulder rig...so a little longer wait for my cpm rig...but all in time :)

Looks awesome, man! Any chance you can post some footage using a non IS lens vs. an IS lens with that while not on sticks?

How much does it weigh?

i suspect it will do great because my diy shoulder mount works excellently especially when counter weighted. but i want something more professional looking, and also something i can attach alot of others things to easily and that can be used with other cameras in the future.

I wouldnt mind seeing it in action though :D...if u have time

~ 2.6 lbs WITHOUT camera/shoulder_rig/camera/focus_puller, i.e. 2.6 lbs ready to slide the camera on and attach to tripod. 4lbs includes the two handles you see pictured.

Shoulder rig, shoulder rig counterweight(s), focus puller, camera and lens, microphone etc would add extra weight to that 2.6 lbs.

I am getting out now and shooting sample footage mornings to first try my indie slider ($99), but I will also try some footage run and gun with the shoulder rig with and without IS if I can remember and post here, give me a few days to maybe a week to have that, but I will make the effort.

Does it not bother you that the shoulder mount is so high, thus putting the camera so low for run-and-gun?

I have not yet used the shoulder mount, so I probably will mount it lower, on the bottom rails, when I actually take it out-- it can go either way, very flexible cage and shoulder mount components.
