My audio Review of ALL films - Download Now :)

Thanks for the taking the time out to do this. I appreciate the comments and especially the critiques. And you have to be about the coolest looking guy I have ever seen.

Cheers Norm! Added your link to the first post!

No problem, and my pleasure! Just tested the download, which started at over 600kb/sec, and was still increasing all the way over 750kb/sec when I cancelled it ... so HUGE increase over the 26kb/sec.

I've got TONS of server space/bandwidth, so more than happy to do it.

Seriously, Lawrie...I cannot help but think of Charles Foster Kane when I see this image.

Actually ironically that is what I get called by the local papers around here, the Orson Welles of 'Dysart' the coastal town I stay in hehe.

I run a company quite competitively too hehe (not as much as Kane) but my passion is for the art not the $$$ :) - (life is way way too short for abundant $$$ over abundant art) - now thats Bourgeious sentimentality but i'll stick to my guns (so long as i have enough for rent, ties waistcoats and food - in that order of importance.)

Indeed there is nothing more apolagetic to the generous male frame than a tightened waistcoat.

Right! time to go off and review these last films!!

Glad your passion's for the art and not the money. Money's only a game of manipulation that must be played in order for us filmmakers to create the films we want to see. A Marxist might also say it's the root of all evil in contemporary society, heh (which isn't too far off, but also not quite right).

It's so funny you're called that. I can really see it. The arthouse tycoon Lawrie Brewster! And now I'm thinking about Brewster's Millions, haha.

I love your style, Lawrie. Stay classy.

Okay Part 2 Hurrah!

Features a slightly more long winded review ooooof

The Last Hours, One Tear for You, Hitoribochi, Take !

Now er I do go off on some tangents a little bit (teenie weenie weeeenie bit) that i think might hold some interest to the other participants of the festival (I blether a bit about the potrayal of romantic suicide/depression) and theatrical styles of performance.

Not that im any kind of genius that warrants such immediate attention but just that it touches on a lot of the themes shared by all the films ;)

Oh and any chance of someone putting a mirror for this too/ If required gents?

Ah well your obviously a romantic like me lawsuitboy (jon!) good for you. Even when matters of financial circumstance do force some compromise its vital to hold onto that priceless commodity of artistic ambition!!

Of course that artisitic ambition is netiher exclusive to arthouse films, but can be expressed in genre movies too. In fact i would argue it is VITAL to those genre films that can as a result of artistic value - stand out against dumbed down mainstream fare.

I will be attending the Dead by Dawn Horror film festival in the UK, and it is frequented by THEE core market demographic for independent horror films. That is passionate, genre loving fans, who will have the open mindedness and love for thier genre to give indy fare a second look - in the desperate hope that they will have taken ideas so bold, that mainstream fare wouldn't dare too.

I sometimes think that art has this weird 'taboo' element in American film (like calling someone a 'liberal' haha) Ridiculous and weird to me. In the UK, the fusion of artistic value does not automatically define a film as arthouse or 'worthy' but as innovative entertainment.

A good example of a microbudget film that achieved this from the UK (with Lionsgate signing) is 'The Vanguard' by Mathew Hope - a good American example, is 'Five Eyes Across' similarly signed with Lionsgate. Both films with bold artistic ideas...

The very worst (and i think incorrect attitude) is the cynical notion that within independent film you can create rubbish and it will sell. (lol such a market theory doesnt even work for pornography!) ;)

I think the whole idea of an audio review is great, especially by someone that can communicate clearly. I wish we had more people do this! If you enjoyed your review, you could take the clip and post it on your own website (as long as you get permission). Perhaps in the next festival, we will see more of these.

Yeah maybe that would be cool - sure thing well i mean folk are free to quote/sample me for use in promoting their film :p anything to help my filmmaking brothers :)

I had originally intended to actually recorded video of me doing this (i will do for my twilightfest feedback as that will be hilarious) but i was on deadline for a commission so didnt have time to set it up. (not that it would look overproduced haha it is just me sitting blethering)

My god that is actually it - except ill probably be drinking something harder during mine, be dressed smarter and may have a cat to warm my knees (unless I can find somethiiing or someone ;) more exotic!)

But yep thats it Blaine - more or less like that and it won't be just capital - it will be sterling and capital! Hurrah!
