.mts clip join tool

Thank you Pailes! You know how to do some seriously cool things!

Question: Some of my MTS files are 1920 x 1080 and some are 1440 x 1080. Does your app convert them to one or the other with one being dominant? I've not been able to change my FCP Log and Transfer settings to have everything transfer as one or the other. Is that a possibility with this app?

Just found this little beauty, a big thanks to Pailes. You've helped me restore the word "matrimony" in a bride's marriage vows. If only she knew!

Does this work with m2t files as well? I have a Firestore FSC-60 that recently has been having the same issues (glitch at the end/start of each 4 gig clip). Oddly enough I believe I don't think I was having this problem before. I shoot live music events and set up one camera to tape the whole event (sometimes lasting 4-5 hours).

thank you pailes for making this app for us (as we might not have seen one from panasonic) and for free on top of it. Although I rarely shoot long clips, when I do I don't want the breaks to ruin the shot. To "pay it forward" I made a small donation to Unicef Sudan on your behalf.

thanks again

Anyone else have a 2 min limit on the joining? I'm running it on PC and have 8 files that make up about 3.2Gb total with the first being in the 1.4Gb range and I've tried running the joiner four times and rebooted after the install and every time it says, "completed" and yet the video is exactly 2 mins long not 6 to 10 mins like it should be. Is there a 2 min limit unless one pays or does something?

If you are using a PC, just try doing a manual join...

Open a CMD window, browse to your folder containing the files and type this in:

copy /b 1.mts+2.mts+3.mts 123.mts

Of course replace the file names with your own. See if that works for you.

gotcha. for pc i found another tool that works easily. so the mac version works a-ok? cuz we have both mac and pc here.

Thanks for this great, very usuful program.

On miner thing, i can only add 11 files at a time.
Can you make it to add more files ?
I've got more than 3000 to join :crybaby:

Thanks again

yeah we found this to be an issue also. and the mac one has issues too. we just decided this past weekend to abandon the hassle and move on. too complicated for our practically 100% multicam (3 cam) shoots of 25 to 150 mins. has been a nightmare :crybaby:

For now Im using Cyberlink Power Director 8. But this one takes to long, beacause he converts MTS to M2TS. The rendering takes long time.

If MtsMerger could add more files at a time, that whould be perfect

I only had 15 to join, but it worked fine. I downloaded the 1.0.0.2 version from the attached files on pailes' opening post in this thread. Link still works.

Well, let me clarify. All is NOT fine. It joined all of my clips, but the resulting file starts to play back at about 4X speed and without sound after the first clip. I used another clip-joiner in addition to this one and the same thing occurred. Strange.

If i remember correctly the maximum amount of files to be joined on Windows is four or five files at the same time. Its a limitation in the OS. I have a vauge memory that it is the same on Mac OS X as well.
