So, I didn't get a chance to post the example pics, because I went to the gym late and guess what? My car died! Didn't get home until 1 and had to get up at 5 AM. Will try again tonight.

Here are the pics, finally. Pics 2 and 3 are with shadows added, while the first one is just the original with those white walls I can't stand. No cc, just shadows.

Thanks, MAH. It really does make a difference and that's one of the scenes that even though the material in the scene is great, I thought the look was too bland.
My white Kitchen walls are way too bright, please send any left over shadows this way
LOL! Join the club, Tommy. I've got white walls all over my apartment. Somebody give me some more shadows, please!

Let's see. . .One, well, two VFX shots, two landscape shots to add and then on to the intro - then off to the composer. So. . .asap!

Getting close...please keep hammering away. I've invested in 4 films now...and you might actually be the first to finish! Make it happen.
(I'm beginning to wonder about the Kickstarter thing, been waiting for SIMILO for almost a year now)
I'm just realizing that once a project is funded and the monies collected...you're at the project owner's mercy...I wonder if people are just making a living 'funding' projects that don't have a finish date? Something to think about moving forward....

Will do. I'm not sure how much the intro will change from the original yet. Probably not a whole lot. I'm talking about the comic book intro. This time, however, I'd add the names of the cast and all that. Didn't do that with the short.
Oh, I will. I can promise you my film will get finished. I definitely don't start things that I don't finish and I hope it'll be well worth the wait.
You know, people could make some money that way, especially on indigogo where your project doesn't have to be 100% funded. I wouldn't be surprised if some were doing that.

Marlon those shadows add a lot, really cool! you added those in AE?

Yeah, Matt. I like them. I actually added them in fcp. You can do AE or whatever editing platform you use. All you do is composite a background over the shot. Of course if the shot is in motion you may have to key frame or motion track the BG to match the footage. With the background all you do is take your camera and film an area where you may only have 2 or 3 main colors, adjust your lens to where everything is way out of focus and record. In post, make a still of the BG and composite (overlay) it over the footage and there you have it. You may have to adjust the BG and move it around to your liking, but when you get it right it really adds some depth.

That's a helluva technique, I have done some similar stuff, but never thought to add shadows from a window. Very cool!

Thanks! Yeah, I had to add some kind of flare for it to be on par with eveverything else in the film.

Sooooooo its been almost a month since anyone has posted anything about Bad To The Jones....has the spark that keeps Craig and Tyrone going died from us? If the sizzle for this amazing film dies then the film dies with it! Whats going on with the film Marlon? Anything new?

Glad somebody's interested out there. . So the movie is really close to being done. I just finished the intro to the film, which I thought would take about a week to do. It only took me two days. That was great, because I had to go and pull files from the short, which was 2 years ago and 6-8 external hard drives later. Also, one of the last things I was needing were some landscape shots and I've got those done. Just have to plug one in and that's done. So, this week I'll be doing voiceovers for the one scene we reshot, which won't take long at all. After that, the credits and it's ready to send to my composer. I'm hoping to have that done by the weekend. While he has it I'll be finishing the color correcting, so when he sends it back to me it'll be totally finished.
