Minolta 50mm 1.4 Has anyone used this lens on their DSLR camera? I have an old film camera and this is the lens it has on it. It is in great condition and feels nice a heavy and not like how some of the newer lens feel. I'm guessing if I use this lens I will need some kind of adapter.

The MD lenses on an EOS cam won't reach infinity focus without the glass which destroys the image quality the lens could produce. It's effectively a macro lens without the glass. Same exact issue that Canon FD glass has on EOS cams.

Cheers,
Pete

Yeah, I read that somewhere. That's too bad. Lots of Canon users out there that can't take advantage.

So basically we should switch to the Sony Nex....

Umm, if you want to, but that's not what I said nor was I implying what-so-ever. Canon makes great cameras. I've owned multiple Canon cameras (a 60d up until last month) and I was never unhappy with any of them. I love when people put words in my mouth and feet in theirs. I genuinely think it sucks when a camera is limited by something like this. The OP asked specifically about Minolta Lenses. I happen to have lots of them and I am very happy with them. I think whatever camera you can make a nice Minolta lens work on, it's great. And when you can't, "it's too bad".

Don't jump to conclusions so quickly.
