"Meeting" - Leif Kyrre Larsen

My interpretation was the same as Maximus. I quite liked this film. I love "Let the Right One In." The quiet, contemplative aesthetic works for me. Beautiful composition and clean camera control. The actor did a particularly good job of subtly acting through expression.

Thumbs up.

im impressed Kyrre, great work... Great grading and editing. Im proud to have been a part of your crew on this one. Looking forward to the next project, you know where to find me :)

I have my personal interpretations as to what the story was about...his relationship to the girl...and what the future holds for him and perhaps even (them). What I like is that I don't feel the need to even discuss it or ask you questions regarding that matter. It's private and I feel that's perhaps what you set out to accomplish with this film. Accomplishments, sacrifice, suffering and desires... to me, these are the most personal and enigmatic facets of our life. The imagery, tone, and editing all work together to conjure up a flavorful variety of feelings both for your character and for myself. He's definitely relatable and effectively becomes someone we care about in a short amount of time.

I don't want to comment on anything technical or even in regards to your story. It seems you have a precise reason for every single shot, every moment, every edit in this piece; and that's exactly the way it should be. I can't imagine making movies any other way and I enjoy seeing films in this manner. Whatever you do, know that you absolutely know how to make a film and it's something people either understand or don't understand. You sir, understand it quite well and have a natural talent for recognizing story and cinematic flow. Whatever you do, just keep making films. Partly because I enjoy them, more importantly because you'll go far, most importantly because you're good and it'd be a waste not to.

I think this is my favourite film of the festival. 'Acceptance' had a very similar aesthetic and confident style.

It's a very simple story told with honesty. Not much more to say but we liked it a lot. I never have the guts to do something this restrained but you clearly shine when selling these moments of personal character change, without resorting to wizz-bang techniques. The timing and execution is just spot on.

good luck.

Easily my favorite. Too bad about the exhibition thing, but what can you do.

I LOVE how the dialogue is only between supporting characters but really helps tell the background of the story. I think having it in a language I dont understand actually worked better for me than English would have. Made me really focus on the two leads.

The acting is great. I was instantly enveloped and curious about each character.

Everything is just beautifully shot as well - the contrasting color pallets between the office and the girl's apartment are great. Not too overdone but it makes its point.

The ending is just great too - what a terrible feeling to have gone after one thing only to be missing the other.

Incredible work Kyrre - can't wait to see your next film.

I really like the story you told here. It was in my top five films of this fest. You and your crew really put together a solid entry.

Congratulations Kyrre, your fan favourite win was definately deserved in my opinion. I look forward to your next short, and hope you can get involved in the competition next time!

Really awesome job on "meeting", I happened to be scouring vimeo and found it. I can't believe i missed this in quest fest. To bad it was exhibition only, it was easily my favorite. I was a huge fan of "acceptance" and i can really see how you have progressed and grown as a filmmaker since then.

I'm really digging your visual style. The cinematography was simply awesome.

Keep up the great work man.
