"Meeting" - Leif Kyrre Larsen

Very good short! If it weren't exhibition only it would be in my top films... nice work... beautiful... says so much with so little...

I also thought this was an excellent film. I'm not totally sure I understood the girl thing, but this was very professional, well put together and the acting was excellent. I would also like to know why this was just an exhibition.

Beautiful. Why was this "Exhibition Only"?

we had an unfortunate situation where the end credits exceeded the 15 second limit and the filmmaker was unavailable to make the necessary change and re-upload. regretfully, the film was given exhibition status so we could move forward and open viewing.

This has left a lasting impression on me, very thought provoking. Impressive to accomplish this in a 6 minute short. I like the fact that a lot is left open for interpretation. Strong acting performances. Would love to see more from this film maker!

Very nice! I love your work.
Even though I may have enjoyed your previous entry just a tad more this was still part of the cream of the crop this Fest.

The last push in on his face seemed a bit bumpy or something but I liked the back to back push ins. Very powerful. Really too bad about the exhibition status.

Can't wait to see what you do next.

Cheers,

MAH

Very well done. I like a lot of the compositions, and the story- the camera work, edit, and sounds design all helped to make this a solid entry. I'm sorry to hear that you got exhibition status.

Wow...

Thanks guys! This was overwhelming!

Yeah, I messed up on the credits and couldn't fix it because I was in Denmark. But getting feedback is more important than competing anyway.

Keep 'em coming! And don't be afraid to be harsh - lay it on me! I bet a good bunch of you thought this was some pretentious crap, and don't be afraid to confirm that.

I like this nordic scandinavian charme of silence and something like static atmosphere. It is very much 'More is less' and that feels good. I am not really sure if I get the story. I admit that the main character burned out, after he had worked too hard to be accepted in the company!?

Compliments and I am sorry for you that your film got the exibition status, only because there was something wrong with the credits.

Susanne

I think this same tranquil, introspective aesthetic was revealed in Let the Right One In. I really noticed it in that picture and, despite the subject matter, left feeling like I'd just seen something more thoughtful than a Saw-level American horror movie.

Seeing the characters suffer as most of us do - quietly and within ourselves - is simply more relatable.

I liked the shot composition and photography in this entry very much. The story passed me by a little bit; it felt incomplete as if there's more a viewer needs to know. Nice job.

VERY NICE! It was beautifully shot and edited. The sound was crisp (although the footsteps in the beginning seemed to be a bit off from his actual steps) and the score was really nice. I particularly liked the lack of dialogue here. It really forces you to tell the story visually, a feat that not many are able to pull off well, so I want to say kudos to you on that one!The one problem I had was with the story and only in the fact that I'm sure what exactly his quest was (I admit to not being as sophisticated and educated cinema wise as some on here, but my goal for watching these films has been to make sure I uncover the quest in each one). It would seem that the time demands and stress from his job has broken up his relationship with the woman he keeps seeing? So then is his quest to get her back? I don't know, but either way I think this film was beautiful and enjoyed wathcing it. The performance of your cast, the lead in particular, was excellent, so kudos to your casting!Thank you for sharing!

A few people have mentioned that they didn't get the story or the quest theme.

I may be way off base from what the director intended, but my personal interpretation of the story is, "In the quest for success, a person can lose sight of what is really important in life."

The lead character has worked really hard to make it in the corporate world, but it has cost him the love of his life (the girl). Is being "one of them" (the executives) really worth it? Apparently not.

My two cents.

Nice work.

Some really good compositions here. And the camera work tasteful.

This short is a great example of "show don't tell" and that is the essence of cinematic filmmaking. We get all we need from the editing and the arrangements of the images. I love the minimal aesthetic. Good job bud.

Really nice work...all-around. You have a great style and flair. Two fests...two films, and I've enjoyed them both. The quest was clear to me as the main character worked very hard to become "one of them" at the cost of a personal life. (this sounds all too familiar having worked in the corporate world for years)

Technically and artistically this film was spot on for me! Great job. Sorry about the exhibition status...

Hi Kyrre,

I can only reiterate what has been said before...
Beautifully shot, you made an office building seem very interesting.
Very well acted, especially from your lead.
Loved how little dialogue there was and what is there is important for the story.

I myself have been very impressed with the movies coming out of Scandinavia recently, and I can see that good filmmaking is not just at the top level. Well done.

Shame it got kicked down to exhibition entry.
