anyone trace the pins on the canon usb so we can just cut our own mini usb and splice on a female headphone jack?

.
But we need that,it shows accurate real values ,big canon ISO and Shutter values are not always 100% true ones since ISOs/shutter speeds were unlocked, big value wont display ISO 115 or shutter 53 and stuff like that.I don't need to see that stuff because the Canon's normal readouts tell me that in nice large numbers already.

just ordered one of these to use for monitoring

the mini usb for t2i connector has 6 pins but is built on a 11 pins connector
if you look at it with the large side down, the contact are visible at the top (small side)
ground is pin 1 and 6 (most external pins) while Left and right audio are the center pin (3 and 4)
mini usb for data use the other side of the connector (where there is only 5 pins).
so if you try to modify an mini usb cable, chance are you will miss the necessary pins on the correct side.
Some HTC connector are compatible (they have 11 pins) , but the cheap headphone connectors you can found on ebay use
totally different pins, so chances are that not only the adapter does not work, but the wires for the right pins are missing either.
I think I am going to try it!
I just put the Canon miniUSB to 3RCA into the camera
What cable is this? Did one come with my camera and I can't remember? Or where do you order it? I did a quick search for a specific canon usb to rca and can't find anything.
