That's the safe route. Arm.indy has some tricks which may work even without a firmware update, see http://groups.google.com/group/ml-devel/browse_thread/thread/12a0b992e699f472/ . For now, we only need a volunteer who can run some platform-independent test code.

I just installed ML on my 60D for the first time. Looks awesome.

------------ Question 1

I have a question about Crop Marks. When I am on the Crop Marks prompt, I only have 1 crop mark layout to choose from, even though I have several loaded into the folder. I watched a video tutorial on crop marks and the person simply hit the Set button to toggle between all his crop marks.

This is not an option for me. We I hit the Set button, it just turns the crop marks on or off, with only 1 layout option.

What am I missing?

Also, I notice the Crop marks tend to lag when you hit the record button. They go away for a few seconds, then come back. Is this normal? Anything I can do about that?

While browsing around I´ve read that you can increase bitrates. Is this true?

Cropmarks: upgrade to http://bit.ly/ml-mar23 and read the help text from the menu.

Bitrate: yes, but there's very little gain in image quality.

In theory, setting FPS override and automatic exposure from Canon should do actually bulb ramping.

I have the XMAS unified version and I'd like to install it on my 5dmkII. However, I don't have official Canon firmware 2.1.1 (I have older firmware), and I can only upgrade to 2.1.2 from the official Canon site. How should I proceed?

Hi, nice weekend to you!

Here are a few test shots demonstrating the high dynamic range, my 550D is able to capture with the new digital gain feature from the latest build.
All are captured with the following settings:
Equiv. ISO: 115
Analog ISO: 200
DIGIC ISO Gain: -0.7 (seems to be the best setting without clipping the histogram)
HTP: On
PictureProfile: CineStyle (2,-4,-2,0)



On all pictures there is virtually no clipping at all.
Eventually, I post some differently graded versions of the same pictures to show, whats possible with the raw material.

I wonder, how many stops the camera can capture now? Unfortunatly, I dont have any equipment to test this.

sorry for the dumb question but is there an ML-101 somewhere? The Vimeo link in the OP is dead.

I've been using ML for a while and I mostly find it intuitive (for the basic features ... histogram, zebra, and setting shutter speed, ISO and aperture). But I have a few questions like; sometimes my settings even though they are manual tend to change (example; sometimes my Shutter Speed will seem to adjust itself even though I set it to 1/48).

Quick question:

I've got a 60D and I wanted to try out ML. I downloaded the latest version and the install guide said to update my 60D's firmware to 1.1.0 before installing. I updated the firmware but it ended up updating it to 1.1.1 instead. Will this screw up ML or destroy my camera?
