Lost - The Final Season Thread

Lost's final season starts tomorrow. I've gone from loving, to hating, to not caring, to loving, then hating, and then liking the show again enough times to think I was married to it. Last season was pretty good so I'll be there to see how it wraps up. That ending better be darn good, cause this has the potential to REALLY piss people off if done wrong.

I met JJ Abrams once, and I don't know what this means, but he said that the island was just Hurley's dream.

Around season two, that was my prediction :)

Acutally, I'm perfectly fine with an ending like this (or Hurley's dream or whatever) I'm just glad there is a definitive end to this series. Not that I don't enjoy the show, but it's time to say bye-bye.

If they pull some kind of "St. Elsewhere," I will personally fly to LA, and Hawaii and slap everyone involved with that show, from JJ Abrams to the craft services. I'm setting aside a month of "slap time" just in case...

Why does it say "MAJOR SPOILERS INSIDE" if it's the first 4 minutes?

I will not watch. The GF is going to her weekly LOST night tonight at a friend's house, but I cannot abide TV commercials. So I get it on iTunes after.

Book an extra seat for me...I'm with you!

Hahahahahah. (EDIT:@ #8)

I agree with Batutta's original post. It's been an up and down experience, but my wife and I have hung in with this show since....was it 2004? It's been a while.

Question time...SPOILERS.

In the new timeline, why was Desmond on the plane when he wasn't originally. He was on the island before they crashed.

My prediction is that the show will end by revealing that entire series has just been a long prequel to "The Neverending Story"

Actually if they end the show to end in a certain way, and then segue into a new show set 100 years in the future, that could be pretty awesome.

I have been trying to figure out that one myself. Unless Desmond WAS on the plane from the start and they never showed him but the Hatch Desmond was in a different timeline altogether.

The Jacob thing is what has me confused. Smoky has pretty much been explained.

with the island under water, there was no island to get shipwrecked on, so Desmond finished the race. but why does he seem to come and go? is the timeline unstable? incidentally, Damon Lindelof says its incorrect to think of this as an alternate timeline. which gets me thinking about Juliet saying "it worked" and the lack of the whooshes usually heard with each flashback and flash forward in previous seasons. lindelof said to think of it as a flash-sideways.

Then it just makes it a massive coincidence that he also ended up on that plane, but massive coincidences seem as common as housedirt in the Lost universe.
