LITTLE VOICE - an Alex Jeffery film from Simple Science Productions

Really swell movie. Telling this story is really all about pacing, and I think that that worked out really well. The acting was great, and it really needed to be all it was to pull this off well. I particularly liked the cutaway to the scene where she draws the heart on his face.

I liked the happy ending, but I also think it would have been more of a twist and a kick in the groin if he went to see Rachel even after all the coaxing from his conscious. You kind of see the ending coming, and once the ending piece of music started, I knew it for sure.

Really well done!

Nice work Alex. A nice story well told. I dont underestimate how difficult it would have been to portray what you have.

I have watched this one more than a few times, just showing it off to coworkers and what not. So far, I have 5 FAVORITES of the fest and this is one of them!

Awesome, guys. Thanks so much for the great feedback, and I'm glad so many of you are enjoying it! Everyone has produced such great work this go around, it's really cool to be a part of it.

I like that this addressed the theme of the fest without actually "being" the theme. What a good story! And nothing bad happens like in so many of the other movies. I just saw your poster when I opened the discussion thread.. very nice I like the red/white colors. Excellent film one of my favorites too.

The sound recordist did a great job! It made my life easier that's for sure.

Indeed... good recorded sound will save you a lot of time in post. ADR and foley is less needed then. So time can be spend to other things like editing, final touches...

Although foley always gives that "feeling".

A cool idea. Nice execution.

I thought the actor playing the little voice was better than the guy. Yes, I know it's the same actor, but he was better. The moments that stood out as fake were his reaction to seeing himself, and his fond memory moments while looking at the pictures.

I wasn't really buying the scenario though, especially when they were yelling up to the wife and she answered like she was wide awake. I also wasn't buying the fact that this guy is cheating. No offense, but he doesn't seem like the ladies-man type, and his wife is very cute and seems sweet. Of course, it is plausible in 'real' life but this is a movie after all, and I think there's a better casting choice there, and a more realistic scenario.

Technically, it was great, aside from the pink light and some over lit night scenes that looked like day, nothing took me out of it. (easily fixed with some CC)

Seamless doubling effect. Nice job overall.

Great work on the doubling of the actor. The only real negative I have here is the pink light in the kitchen. Other than that, I thought the acting was good, and the story was nice. Good job!

This was really good. Just a nice flow to the film and a good ending. The actors did a great job. Good story. Kitchen light was different but it didn't matter really. Good film Alex.

Seriously, an on-target review here, covering many points I was thinking of.

Haha, The wife/girlfriend IS cute, I wish there were more of her in the film.

Something didn't jibe with me in regards to location. Actors seemed too young for the scenario being presented. Seemed like you guys borrowed someone's parent's house to shoot this. Either that, or someone has great taste in interior design for such a young age!

This was shot very well and the performance was great. Only little tid bit I didn't care too much for was the red light in the kitchen. Seemed a little out of place but the rest of the natural lighting work was impressive so I gave your film and only one other film in the fest a full 10 stars. Good job and good luck.
