Too bad they let the lack of prizes turn them away. To me, the DVX fest is just a good excuse & motivation to make a short in the first place ... but even if prizes weren't offered for this, there's still other opportunities to take the short to other festivals & online venues for cash prizes, recognition, etc.

I hate to say it, but it's kind of short sighted of people to not make a short just because DVXuser's not offering a prize for their camera.
 
How can people complain about prizes? We have the most amazing prizes I've ever seen at stake with this fest! Am I missing something?
 
I'm a big sci-fi fan...so i'm realy excited!! Unfortuantly, I don't have the qty of post's to vote...but I can't wait to see the vids!

Next time I will grow some balls and see what I can put together :)! Best of luck to all who entered!!
 
I am also looking forward to watching all the films. After seeing what everyone could do with zombies, I can hardly wait to see what everyone does with sci-fi.

So people who can enter a contest for FREE, think the prizes should be better?

I'm just surprised there is any prizes. What Jarred has set up is more than generous. Given the cost to enter. Which is FREE!

I absolutely could not agree more! The fact that Jarred (and his minions) work so hard to pull this together AND throw in the awesome bonus of prizes is not just generous, but just about unheard of out there beyond the boundaries of this site.

Great GREAT job, everyone!

I think this is an amazingly special and cool group of similarly interested people. I know our cast and crew are completely ecstatic to have actually went through the film creation process and produced an entry!

Can't wait to view!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its been too long since I made my own entry into one of these. I look forward to seeing what you all have done with this installment of the contest. I'm as excited for this one as I have been for any of them. I'll be sad that I wasnt involved with any of them, but there is always the next one.

This feels like the good old days. As graffiti writers we would all do pieces in a black book and bring them to the writers bench to show them off and hang.
This to me is the next logical step, getting my name up but this time on the big screen and hanging out with people that like the same thing.
