2 x Tripod Connector, 15mm rods and lens gears from Shoot35.

323 Quick Release Adapter from http://www.manfrotto.com.

Follow focus, handles and grip rods from Redrock Micro. (Would get the Shoot35 CINEfocus now but it wasn't available when I needed one.)

Kestrel Mattebox from True Lens Services. (Connector to the Rods clamp handmade from a aluminium L-profile.)

A Hama Rubber Lens Hood Telematic S flipped backwards as a long donut to stop stray light in combo with Cokin P Adaptor rings. This to deal with the axial movement on my FDs when focusing.

RS-4 R-Strap from BlackRapid so I can let go of the rig and let it hang comfortably when I shooting hand held.

Then I use a set of ND filters from Formatt Filters (not shown here).

I got pretty much everything I would need on this baby.

All being held together with the Halo Rig mini :kit:

GH1
Matte box
Cavision CF rails
Comer LED
Rode ntg-1 mic
Adzen 2ch wireless receiver
Adzen shock mount
H4 recorder

The dfocus should be here soon then complete (for a while)!

very smart rig Martti...best i've seen sofar.

Thanks - I've put some thought and research into it. It's very compact so I can keep it as is in my Cinebag with just the camera removed with the quick release. I can be ready to shoot fully kitted in less than two minutes after arriving at a location. Normally though I have it somewhat folded with matte box removed so I can also keep my FDs in the bag.

In case anybody wonders why the left handle is leaning back and placed outside the focus wheel, I do that so I can rest the weight into the palm of my left hand while still pulling focus with thumb and index finger. Elbows tucked into torso and EVF rested against eye and it's a pretty stable setup for handheld.

dmpsk8, that is the cinecity shoulder rig, correct? How effective is that counter weight?

I could use another weight. I added an extension to give it a bit more leverage, that helped a bit for now. With two of the dvcity weights it should be alot better.

Been reworking my setup for awhile now. I'm shooting a music video this weekend with the setup below.

I can drop the monitor to the lower rail for handheld shooting. So far I'm really liking it. Definitely feels more cine these days.

The monitor is just for playback right? No live view? Sorry, been out of the loop

^ ...so much for small and portable....

not quite. Its very scalable depending on the situation.

The quick release plate under the cam lets me pull the GH1 right off the rig, and leave everything else behind. One of my favorite aspects of it.

That whole rear extension for the counter weights pops right off too.

Just got my GH-1 today and I'm just scared looking at your rigs. How much more do I need to spend to get this new GH-1 to get into it's full potential? I have my Bogen tripod and I usually just belcro all my stuff like the wireless reciever into my old Canon GL-1 body. I'll keep myself simple for now.

good glass and stabilization is the key

Jess,

It really depends on what your doing. You don't have to spend much for functional support.

Consider a simple shooter setup to start off, and grow it based on your needs.

I will use it for WEddings and some Family fun stuff like MTVs and Bday Partys. I did some short Movie Script for College students in the late 80s with just a VHS Cam with just tape to tape. I think I can dip and experiment with some Mini-Hollywood stuff too in the future.
