Frame rate hack

Frame rate hack

What you do is save your scene files to an sd card then upload them to a computer. then, using a text editor, you change the frame rate of number 5 or 6 to your desired fps. then you save the text and load it back into the camera. if you want you can go to as low as 2fps at 1/2 shutter. This is achieved not by using the shutter button but by changing the sincro scan to 350 degrees (AKA 1/2 shutter). There is a great clip from HVX boot camp on You tube that can visually show you what to do, just search "HVX Boot Camp". I have used this form of the hack a few times and it looks great. Remember that in order to change the scene file back to factory default you need to go to the scene file and on of the last options allows you to "initial" the scene file which means revert to the initial settings. Hope this helps.

The source I used just called it "Barry's framerate hack." Is that you? Do you have a link to the first-time posting of this? I didn't copy verbatim, but I'd be more than happy to give credit.

Updated. I put up some links from the Spanish site, too, since they seem relevant but I still haven't found anything in English yet.
