Yeah, I think that would play over nice. Maybe I can play with it if we get the opportunity to expand it.
 
At first the story was really lame but the friend request at the end was creepy. The composition and lighting was good along with the acting. I find it very hard to believe he would tune everything out and let his wife die. The death of his wife made the story week, maybe a more gradual build up would have made it more believable though I get the time restraint. The score was good as well, the title at the beginning would have been easier to read if it was white. Good film, look forward to seeing more of your work.

For someone whose user tag is "filmcritic," I find it a little out of line to use words like "lame" and "weak." Dont you think?
 
Thanks Film critic. The whole purpose of this film was not to make it believable to you, no more than someone who put little green gobblins in their film for a thriller fest. (Lol.) Remember this is a fiction Narrative, which allows viewers to ponder on what ifs and make believe, although this was written with some underline of truth. I am sure we have all at one time lost cognizance to that thing which was most dear to him or her, and have lost or came close to loosing it. This is the case with Michael. So please try and decipher between things meant to be taken literally and things meant to be purposely exaggerated to convey a message.

However I do appreciate your input though and no hurt feelings on your opinion as it is the nature of what we do. Some will love our films as filmmakers and some they will just not move.

Bmefilms I think Filmcritic should always be able to state his views as he sees them, this is why I love these forums. Thanks again for watching.
 
I placed this in my top tier and quite surprised you didn't make it to the finalists. Still, really good work and you certainly had one of the best endings in the fest IMO.
 
Thanks Guys, that says a lot coming from guys in my opinion deserve to be in the finals, and who had quality work as well. I am just grateful for this forum and the opportunity to have my work seen and critiqued by my fellow peers. With that being said, I am cleaning up the ADR in a week or so as well as cleaning up a couple of minor bugs to submit to other festivals. Exciting time to be a Filmmaker. Cheers, and keep up the great work.
 
reem, must have been a close miss. As you can see its small things that will put you just outside. Apart from the ADR issues which seems to be a big killer in past fests as well, your wide angle in that scene was a bit of a mismatch to the other tighter angles as well there. On tight the lighting worked on the wide, not as well and that only served to make people look closer IMO.

I think the other small thing may have been the death of the wife. It was sudden and seemed merely as a way to get the point across he was tuning out, which we already understood.
 
yeah I knew that about that particular scene from the beginning, and was one we had to rush since we were approaching daylight but had already discussed reshooting prior to the deadline but my lead was committed to another project and timing was off. But This is one of the clean ups I was referring to.

On the subject of wife abruptly dying, I am ok with that one as the goal for this in a short form is just to convey more shock value to the tuning out, so more exaggerated to drive home a point.

The nature of the beast Marlon. I try not to ask why but use it as a driving mechanism to produce projects that far exceed the last in quality and content. Thanks for the kind words though. On a side note, they just did a local screening of this same film amongst 14 others and Incognizant seemed to generate a response far beyond what I expected. So it's encouraging to Know there's potential here.

There's great potential here, because it's a very relevant story in this day and age. In addition to that, it's shot very, very well. Especially the opening scene, the CPU scene and the psych ward scene. The talk after he's let go from the job was okay, but I thought everything else was excellent. Good luck with it and keep making films.
 
yeah the scene with the talk with his wife has always been my pet peeve and this is the scene we are reshooting in a couple of weeks to make sure quality on every level is consistent. This was the scene we were running into daylight with and had to rush a few things.
 
Yeah I requested removal as I am about to send through other fest and just want to be sure it won't be conflict.
