The press release states that they are 4:3 with letterboxed 16:9.

You'll find out tomorrow. And it's a really, really, really good reason.Mediacre said:What's the point if they aren't 16:9?

Anders Holck said:It would have been nice to have 16:9 viewfinder and LCD screen, though...
Anders Holck said:Of cause that would be excellent, if the resolution is higher, but if it's only 180.000 pixels I'd still prefer a 16:9 display. Will see how it turns out in the PDF tomorrow...

We could have the 16:9 screen to ourselves within the 4 x 3 screen and data read outs above and below where the black bars are normally on the 4X3 screen showing us camera status: time code, battery, memory info, etc... it's the smart way to do it. Our picture will be icon free, at last! Now who wouldn't want that?

Is it HighRes, that's the question. Can I focus HD with it? Becaus that's what you really start to care about. Never mind well focussed SD. But this is 1080 lines. You want it to be crisp, don't you.
All I can say is, it'll all be revealed tomorrow! Then I can tell you how I knew about this as well.reservoir said:How are you so *informed* about all this?
