Definitely excited about a 12-75mm 2.5-3.3, that would be a much better all around lens than the slow as mud 14-140. Hope the price isn't insane for it by itself.

I am a little upset about 60p. I am curious as to why Panasonic, seeing the great things that are being accomplished with the hack are still crippling the camera and not keeping filmmakers in mind.

Oh well, this is just a rumor.

How is 60p crippling? It's 1080/60P so surely it'll do 24p as well. Saying it'll do 60P doesn't mean it won't do 24P.

It's not 60i which is 1440X1080 it's 60P which is 1920X1080 60 Progressive frames.
Sounds good to me.. Great in fact.

This looks like very accurate specifications.
EVF is right.
60p is right,
Bitrate also (but I thing that 60p will have higher bitrate).
I am not sure about live HDMI, as it seems to be connected to few laws.

This is my opinion according to info I have (and I don't have any official info, otherwise I'll never wrote this here).

And as for "global shutter".
Intermediate solution is, in fact, just doubling sensor scanning speed (may be slightly more than 2x).
It is easy to see from EVF specs and 60p specs.
So, rolling shutter will be lower.
And most probably same sensor will be present in AF100.

how the heck is it possible they will release gh2 with 24mbps bitrate when old GH1 already does 30-50mbps with hack

Well, for one it will be supported by Panasonic whereas the hack isn't. Secondly, I seriously doubt that the vast majority of GH1 owners even knows about the hack, let along has installed it.

A baseless rumor that even the rumor site says is unreliable!

well as long as those GH2 specs ARE true, it's a big step.
I would put zero credibility on any of those specs. There's no way for the rumor sites to know these things, and if they DID know anything, they would be prevented from publishing it by the nondisclosure agreement they would have had to sign.

..and there is nothing on Wikileaks. You can publish stuff there even with a nondisclosure agreement.

when will the gh2 be announced? according the rumors sites, they were supposed to be announced by today. anyone know?

I read the "rumored" specs and of course, all of it together looks like a huge leap from the GH1. From what I have seen from Panny over the years, it has been more of tweak, tweak, tweak and downgrade for price point then bring out a whole new animal.

I know the specs are possibly real or BS, no one knows for sure. But, does such a huge jump seem to follow what Panny has done as far as their basic business model and the timeframe of the GH1 ???
