GH2 battery $13.99 on Ebay

Just draining the last battery now... It looks like there is no red led flashing to know when the battery is going to run out

Not very good

Hope a gh2 hack will come or its buy two real ones And use the rest for spare

IMO for workflow, best thing to do, but not rely on it. Time those batteries a few times on the duration from fully charged to completely dead (perform this a few times). Take the lowest recorded time and keep that as your marker (may decrease over time).

When you insert the fully charged battery on a shoot, set an alarm timer on your watch or your phone minus 10mins from the recorded time. Gives you security to break and switch batteries. I'd say after 10x days of shooting, you might want to confirm that recorded time again to see if the battery deteriorated from usage.

If this is a waste time and your time is valuable, I'd assume you'd have all OEM brand batteries for your backups.

Good suggestions. Thanks.

I have 6 of these, 4 from ebay (two different sellers), 2 from Bestbatt (3 sets). The silkscreening on each "set" is different. All of them last longer than the original Panny. None of them display battery life. None of them support power save (i guess they used the DC power terminals). All six are proving to be a wonderfull investment The total price for all 6 of them (shipping included) was less than the the backorder price from my local canadian retailer for just 1 Panny as yet unavailable replacement. Oh, the ebay charger, well it works fantastic on the clones and the original and throws in a 12V car cord to boot! Have you checked the Panny price for a 120V charger? What about a 12V charger?

Might I say these things are an incredible deal? I have been using similar (bestbatt.com) batteries for years in my TZ3 and FZ50, both old cameras and very well used. With both cameras the Panny batteries died months ago, all the clones are still good (for the record power save and battery meter works flawlessly with the clones in the TZ3 and FZ50). No I don't work for bestbatt and i don't sell anything on ebay. I'm just a frugal prosumer like everyone else.

Do I think the ones I bought for the GH2 will be any different? Duh.

For some balance, I bought some Ebay batts for my HV20 a couple of years back. They worked fine, but out of 4, a couple of them died earlier than the OEM. In fairness, I used them quite irregularly, maybe the 3rd party ones don't like that.

Has anyone measured the voltage of the Ebay batts (ideally when fully charged, and drained)? The DC adapter requires more than 8.4V, so if they just pretend to be DC, they'd need to put more voltage out than the OEMs.
