How is it that panny-direct says in stock all yesterday, however prior to yesterday they were back ordered and now today back ordered status again?..........HuH!

Shipment as in that's when you'd get it if you were to order today or that's the next time there getting cameras even if you've pre-ordered?

BTW, is your firmware been updated or is it the last version. Sometimes they will update cameras in warehouse if the volumes are low enough and it's direct from manufacture...

I shaved this morning. That's the 5 o'clock shadow from just knowing it was going to ship today!

The battery is charging. Had to go back to work, so I can't play with it yet. When I get home, I'll check the firmware version, and hopefully go shoot some low light stuff with my cheap, fast Canon FD's!

I'm running Safari 4 on two different computers and it doesn't work on either of them. I installed FireFox just to get into the store to see if there was tax. Found out there was tax and promptly closed FireFox and deleted it. Just tried it again just now and still doesn't work. Oh, and I'm using it on Macs. Maybe their site isn't compatible with Safari 4?

I smell a class action lawsuit based on reliance. I, and surely many of you, have purchased various items such as SD cards, audio recorders, etc. based on their representation the camera would be here and that its "In Stock".

I've worked on a class action before and can see its a definite candidate.

I'm gonna try this one more time before I break down and cancel my orders to pick up a simple cam to hold me over till it comes out (mine broke in a moto accident):

Will anyone sell me their GH1 for $1750?

You will be helping my 501(c)(3) charity La Mancha Media. I film in orphanges and service projects around the world and create video shorts for them free of charge. http://lamanchamedia.org In fact, there may be a way you can get a tax deduction for 2009 if we arrange the transaction correctly. I need to know within about a day, otherwise have to put a bunch of orders in at Amazon.com for a different camera and accessories. Thanks!

I need to go finish up Central America. Have about 10 places waiting for me.

July 15th? Soo sad. I am leaving for a California tour involving much documentation work a week before that. Perhaps I can get the camera sent down there instead...

I'm afraid to touch my Panasonic order, though, for fear that they will mess is up and mess up the queue of the order.

Also, I could not order through the Panasonic Website on several macs with Safari 3.2.1
Had to install Firefox.

Actually, let me ask my brother, who has the other one I ordered. I really need mine since I have a baby coming otherwise I'd consider it myself.

Yes, the PanasonicDirect website doesn't work well with Safari. Honestly, it doesn't work that well with Firefox either but there was a while where I couldn't even log into the site from Safari.
 
It took me 50 minutes to get through, and I was finally told there was a problem with my credit card authorization. All my information is correct though. :Drogar-Mark-01(DBG) I was told the camera is on back-order and next shipment is early July.

Hilarious. When I called this morning, the customer service guy mumbled something about my order being canceled due to "fraudulent activity" involving my card and kindly started a "case," saying a manager would call me back to tell me what was going on (nobody has).

Of course, hearing "fraudulent activity" made me panic and I called my credit card company who had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. They said Panasonic hadn't even tried to start a transaction with them.

It's pretty pathetic and somewhat sinister if they're starting to resort to out and out lies to deflect the blame onto the consumer.

No, I put in the order Monday when they were "in-stock". I'm not surprised I'm not getting it yet, but I'm getting the run-around here. I've had a pre-order with Amazon since June 6th, but I'm not optimistic they will meet their "July 2" estimated ship date either. I'm hoping I can get the cam by mid July or so.
 
People who ordered after me have gotten their cameras? This annoys me. Shoppatron guy totally denied that this was even possible and said that my 6/29 ship date was as early as anyone from June 4th or before should be getting theirs...ugh I hate these people.
