This seemed like a good time to actually register and post something. Not that I have time for another forum in my life but I can't hold myself back any longer.
As far as I know AdobeRGB stores more color information than sRGB. I don't think this necessarily warrants sRGB being considered "compressed and unnatural" since you often run into the problem of AdobeRGB images being viewed in an sRGB color space and looking washed out, which I would call less natural. Which makes me wonder if the less saturated look of filming in AdobeRGB isn't caused by this somehow. Not that I actually know how, but it's something that I'd hope someone who knows more than me would look into.
Also maybe this question has an obvious answer, but was this filmed in AVCHD or MJPEG? From my photography knowledge it seems obvious how this could affect MJPEG, whether it is supposed to or not, but what about AVCHD?
Reading this post it doesn't quite seem enough to have pushed me over the edge into registering but I guess I was looking for any excuse at this point.
