Have you managed to get 24p/25p out of it? How about manual control over video?
No, I am not aware of anyway to get either of those things to work on the GF1.

Hey there,
could someone post the older PTool version which still allows to change AVCHD settings.
I tried to find it everywhere but could not find it.
Really hope that 3.37 will fix this issue.
Cheers,
Elmar

Here is another GF1 test I did over the weekend:
lens 28mm
avchd settings:suggested value "c" ptool v3.36
you can see on the last clip that there is still mud in low light.
I have the old ptool 3.36 and the new ptool 3.36 the difference is that the video buffer option has been removed but that doesn't mean you can not change the avchd settings.
People start talking without doing real tests. With both ptool versions I can achieve same results there is no conspiracy here. To achieve high bit rate footage you need to record a super high quality scene. (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/199525/00021.MTS)
So what this does in avchd is that erases the 17mbit/s top limit. So when the camera needs higher bitrate it doesn't hit a wall. I get 35mbit/s spikes in super detail scene and 22 in high detail.
What I've notice is that the exposure affects the compression big time under expose scenes get 7mbit/s with big mud in it weather there is detail or not. (I think if tester finds a way to put a lower limit then we will have no more worries.
Remember this hack is not finished, is on development and this version are not target towards tourists.
There were actually atleast 3 versions of 3.36. I got one on Friday that would alter the AVC bit rate and one on Monday and Tuesday that would not. Can you download the current version and see if you can alter the bit rate at all. No matter what settings I use it doesn't work with the most recent version. I can go back to the one from Friday and it works though.
ok did the test and the vlc crashed with the super high bit rate.
I used the new ptool 3.37d (development) but I think I could get the same results from la latest 3.36. the thing is to find the detail scene.
35mbit/seg file. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/199525/high_bitrate_ptool 3.37.MTS
if you want to check it out wait till it uploads. give it an hour or so.
The problem with the codec for me is still in the low light there we see the horrible mud,
the high bit rate is for well exposed scenes, under and over exposed get tho low bit rate
(as low as 7mbit/s).
if the codec set with lower limit it would be great.
plz modify your last quote with the vimeo window.
Doesn't version 3.37d already have the option to set the lower bitrate for AVCHD?
Not that I know of.
3.37 will be release officially after tested, and it is risk free.A lot of people are new here.

Can anyone suggest a free place like where i can upload 2 x 640mb video files which will also allow users to download the originals? I dont think youtube allows the originals to be d/l only the youtube encoded versions.
Check out some of my early test footage here

The settings are still in the tool, but no matter what I put in I can't get high bitrates in the actual file when viewing it in VLC. This issue was confirmed from other users on this forum.
Sorry mate
I think I'll get a GH1, everything I've read points to it being a much better tool for video, so I'll find a way to cope with the slightly thicker size![]()
