So, maybe not X-OCN but a new flavor of XEVC ? That would be a bummer... OK, time to lower expectations again from Sony.

Hi guys, let's stay realistic. Anything that needs higher computing power (like eye AF etc.) won't come...
Cheers,

My take is that changing some internals on the camera - an FS-7 MKIII, if you will - is not difficult. Sensor, computational power, media size/speed/costs are moving like a Ruf 911 on the Autobahn in the late-night hours. And the original was made four years ago and is swerving into the right lane behind a Trabant.
From the looks of it, FS-7 will remain such.Of course SONY could bring a MkIII - but to me Doug sounds more like new firmwares and/or accessories (new RAW unit?) for the FS7s. Hence I was talking about what's possible with the existing FS7.
Cheers,
Alex

Which means the future announcements and/or developments may come either for Cinegear or the fall. A 4 year cycle and all.
Bis bald.
Is an FS7 mkIII or a new model number really that relevant ?

The rumors on A7SIII is fall 2019 ... whether it's the arrival or the announcement..... Also, Sony likes to introduce new products at the Amsterdam IBC, I think this year we will (finally) get the A7S III. It's been 2 years I wait this model to come up at this convention. ...
Sony's live-streaming at 2 PM PST (5 PM EST) today, Sunday, the 7th.... Of course we're just a few hours from the press flooding into the NAB booths, so between today and tomorrow many questions will be answered.
I'm actually kinda pleased in a way because it makes me feel like they plan to continue supporting the FS7 the foreseeable future. That's pretty nice from an investment standpoint.
